Tara662	No, but it can be uncomfortable for the woman. There is still a chance to get pregnant and there is always the possibility of getting STDs so the guy should wear a condom. Some guys also don't like having sex during a woman's period. Some guys don't care and will do it anytime. The mess is easily avoided by wearing a regular tampon, then changing it after. That's what I always did.

Iv'e been with a number of women in sexual situations over the decades, and now and then they've been bleeding. Usually it didn't matter to me in any way at all. Only one of them has been grossed out enough by her own body's "stuff" to tell me that we couldn't have sex right then. Most of them have actually told me that they're hornier during or just before their periods, and who am I to deny a horny woman a chance at sexual satisfaction? :-))) Listen, hunny... the only reason I don't have sex with any woman on her period nowadays is that the one woman I love and want happens to have no uterus anymore, and if she did, I'd make love with her any way she wanted, any time of the month.

hello.	personally, i think its weird. its really up to the individual though. it can be messy and sometimes thats how infections get started.

Sinthya	Here's what I don't get: Guys who are down for anal sex but are scared of a little blood. Freaks. It's not weird, but it can get messy. Just do it in the bathroom and you can both hose off right after.

RNcalledEd	There's no medical reason not to have sex during your period. It's all a matter of taste (no pun intended)... Some women (I've known one) ONLY get horny during their periods, and then WOW! It's worth putting up with a little extra mess... I personally don't mind it at all... There really isn't any major downside for the dude if there is no bad odor or taste. Having a warm, damp washcloth nearby is sensible, unless you want to look like Hannibal Lector. The only downside for women is that orgasms can make cramps way worse for some women (for others it can relieve them, so give it a try next time you have cramps!)... I might not care as much since I'm a nurse and I see lots of blood every day. Blood itself has no freak-out factor for me when we're having sex... Pad the bed with some thick towel and jump into the shower right after. Or better yet, just do it in the shower. And orgasm during menstrautions is a powerful muscle relaxer for cramps.

lolly	It's not weird or gross. It's great, you just need to find a prtner who is comfortable with it. It's not as messy as people assume either, I mean it can be if its like a heavy day, but generally its not that bad. Usually it surprises my bf when he almost doesnt even believe that I have my period because he sees no blood at all. You just gotta shower first and get yourself feeling comfortable. And if you're worried about mess, well just dont do it on the 500 count egyptian cotton sheets, or do it in the shower! It's all good, you've just got to be with the right person to feel comfortable at a time like that.
