Yes, you can try on a tampon. It's not going to hurt you. Just don't leave it in for an extremely long amount of time. That brings on the risk on toxic shock. Which is very rare, but still something to be cautious about.

NO... dont try using them if your not on your period
there will be no blood which means it will be painful to take out without moisture.
its ok to stick the applicator inside your body but dont push the other part inside

You could - but why would you want to? You'll get your period soon enough. If you have to do it put a little vaseline on the tip, it will make it a little less uncomfortable... and don't leave it in! Take it out right away there's no reason for it to be there and it could give you a yeast infection.

yeah its fine as longas you take it out straight away afterwards, i did before i got mine!
you're going to get a lot of people telling you that you'll get TSS from it, but that's just not true, you get that from leaving a tampon in more than 8 hours, and it is extremely rareanyway, so dont worry about that for now. (:

Funny, honey!! I suppose ONE coould wear a tampon Full-Time everyday if ONE desired.
Personally, I never wore one until I took my daughter to a WaterPark when I was 36 years old. I don't need that crap sticking me all of the time. Bras are enough to have to wiggle around!!

Wouldn't that burn and feel uncomfortable? I mean the whole point of putting in a tampon is when your period is on.

Tampons dry you out too much. Its better to use pads any time you can to avoid the dryness and the health effects it can lead to. Toxic shock is a real, but small concern. However the dryness makes it possible for other infections to occur, including the all too common yeast infection. Moisture is your friend.

i wouldnt suggest it! it will hurt like heck when your try to pull it out! if theres not enough liquid absorbed into it, it kinda sticks to your insides and makes it really hard to pull it out!

NO NO NO! That puts a risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome. Just carry around a tampon and if you started put it on in the bathroom.

First off, i don't see why you would want to do that. if it's just to practice for when you DO get your period, then you'd be better off just waiting for that to happen. i don't wat to get gross here, but it's going to slide in a LOT easier if theres...blood....to let it....please don't make me go further in detail. anyways, you can get shock if you don't handle your tampons right, so i wouldn't try it even if you're okay with the fact that it's going to be extremely difficult.

It has been proved unsafe, hasn't it?
I think it would be though, because its only unsafe if you keep it in too long and blood builds up.
I think it is best to learn how to use it safely before it becomes an issue.

hello

it wont hurt you if you only keep it in for a short time. but it may hurt a little bit when you try to take it out because it wont be wet enough and it might rub a little but other than that it wont hurt you and you WILL NOT get toxic shock syndrome from just trying in on if its only like i said a short time.

NO! Don't do it. The discharge will get in it and will stick. It will rip some skin off of your hymen and will HURT. Also, if there is not discharge, it's like paper being stuck to sweat or a slightly damp area, doesn't come off (or out) easily.

No, you can practice with just putting the applicator in, but don't actually press the plunger and put the tampon in. It probably wouldn't injure you, but it may hurt pulling a dry tampon out. Besides, just getting the applicator in is the biggest part of doing it, after that you just push the plunger which is easy.

the box should clearly say
"dont use unless of period."
i tried it, just to see what it feels like and it hurt like a mofo to try and take it out. I was scared of them for 5 or 6 months. Until swimming started and i needed one. Also you'll be more prone to TSS. look it up. :)
