try changing ur pads more often and always used the ones with wing. i think Kotex brands are the best they dont make u feel sticky and u dont have to use thick pads either. in the night use over nights but change right before u go to bed and as soon as u get up...if u wash ur underwear right away its doesnt stain plus black is best during that time of the month. If ur bleeding excessive see ur doctor and get some further advice Birth Control helps.

Heavier periods suggest excess estrogen unopposed by equal Progesterone. Use of natural Progesterone cream, or ayurvedic paste Phal Ghrut will help

Wear night time pads, that's what I do for my first day or so. If that doesn't work, get heavy flow pads.

Use a longer pad meant for heavy flow (if you are not already) and change your pads regularly. So if you start staining after a certain time (say after 3hrs) then make sure you change your pads before that time.
I used to used pads for overnight, during the day time and found that they helped a lot.

Pads are much better these day than they were in my early days so try a few different ones to see how you go. I used to use both tampon and pad and still had escapage... you might like to consider taking a mini pill to lighten the loss and remember to soak in cold water with ordinary ammonia to remove the stains.

Thicker pads are def the way to go. They may feel like wearing a mattress but at least itll save your embarressment. Sounds like your periods are extra heavy tho so maybe a trip to your doctor is also needed?

I'm not sure there is much you can do, other than using tampons or a very thick pad. There are some pads you can wear with a belt to keep them in place, maybe that would help.
If you feel your periods are excessively heavy, you should perhaps visit your doctor and he might have some suggestions on what you could do to lighten them. I do know that taking the contraceptive pill can help, but this isn't for everyone.

OK, Because there are so many "things" that could be happening here, and I don't know your age or have a really detailed explanation of your problem, I will answer your question this way:
Go see your family doctor or a gynecologist. If you are young and still living at home, talk to your Mom and tell her your concerns.

God, it's hard being female eh? I used to have the same problem so I moved on to tampons. The only real solution to your problem is to change more often or use larger pads. As a few people have already said, if your periods are particularly heavy visit the doctor who will be able to help. I know it's not for everyone, but I swear by the pill. It reduced pmt, pain and I don't have to worry about wearing white!!!!!

talk to a doctor. he can hopefully prescribe you some kind of birth control pill that can help you to have a lighter flow. even if you aren't sexually active, a lot of girls use it. my friend who is still a virgin at 22 has taken Oral Contraceptives just to control her flow. ask your doc about it....

Change your pads atleast once in 2 hours... this should help because your problem seems to be a case of excess bleeding. Excess bleeding could be due to various cause, consult with your OBGYN and find out if you have a problem just to be on the safer side... and also, you didnt mention how old you are... if you have just started your periods , it'll take sometime for you to get accustomed to your monthly period... in a few months , you will be comfortable with your pads and know how to handle them. During nights , use dark colored night clothes... the stains wont show as much... also try to wear panties that are high waist and fit well. well fitting panties give little scope for pad movement and hence reduces the risk of staining. Also you could try sanitry napkins that come with belts. Belts help the pad stay in place and reduce the risk of staining. Use pads with wings and pads that are specially designed for a heavy flow. Buy pads that have good adhesive... its very important , where we stay ,in India , the adhesive that Whisper uses is not as good as a brand named Stayfree... So, you need to experiment and find out which brand has the best adhesive... If you feel even slightly wet , change your pads immediately. Carry spare pads with you always. Helps a lot. During your period always wear dark colored clothes... even if your clothes get stained doesnt show much... hope that helped :) cheers and good luck:)

why not did they do something to you.If they are put in correctly you can't feel them at all.I have used them since I first started my period 11 years ago.I have had no problems with them at all. They are the only thing I use, because I have such heavy bleeding.I only have to change them every 6 hrs or so there is no break through bleeding. If you have a problem staining then use a higher absorbency pad or try to use tampons. If you are worried about toxic shock syndrome don't be the odds are very small. All it is ,is based on statistics.Don't believe everything you hear. They allow you to wear whatever you want.It makes it a lot easier to go swimming with out having to use a pad. They get soaked and that is totally gross ,it's like wearing a wet diaper .

It's a matter of finding the right sized pad for you. Some people wear the over nights all day long (my sister). If you're plus sized, they make pads for your size. They cover more area for larger sizes. It all depends on the brands you're using too. When I used to use pads I hated Always, and used Kotex all the time. My sister had the problem of it going up the back of her butt...kinda gross, but that's how she described it, she went to larger pads and I haven't had to hear her complain since.
