I was sexually assaulted by my Family Doctor, what should I do?
I had seen my obgyn about a lump in my breast, and after a mamogram, I found out it was just an infection from a cracked rib. I was referred to my dr to get antibiotics, and upon arriving, he demanded to check the lump himself, and pulled my bra up over my breasts, and began fondling not one, bu both of my breasts, and then asked the nurse to step behind the curtain, and she hesitated and then he further caressed my breasts. He said that my lumps looked fine to him, and after he was doen he walked me out through the waiting room and proceede to ask me out on a date, I just don't know how to handle this, Am I right to feel abused?

You sure are, I would definitely report this to somebody. He's your doctor, and his job is to help you, not cause you distress. This man should not be a doctor, and you should call the medical practice and speak to somebody about it, or if it's a privately owned practice, I would consult a lawyer. You can probably sue, but this isn't even about money, it's about feeling same and the need to be confident in your doctor. And you don't know how he treats his other patients either, it's your duty to prevent him from doing this to somebody else too, what if you had a daughter, wouldn't you want to know things like this before sending her to see him? So I suggest you find a way to report him, but there's no need to confront him about it directly, his actions already spoke for him, so he lost his chance to not get in trouble.

You were certainly abused and it's for sure that you're not his first victim, nor the last if he is not reported. Contact the police and file a complaint, then contact a lawyer to handle the legal issues about contacting the AMA about this doctor and his abliging nurse.
Best of luck. Acting now will save another woman from his abuse..

File a report. File a law suite. Find a new doctor. If he insisted on undressing you himself then something is definitely wrong. If the nurse seemed wary then there is absolutely something wrong!!! If you have to go back for any reason, insist that a nurse be present and in your line of sight at all times. Talk to the nurses privately about the indication to find out if there are other victims. If he refuses to let a nurse be with you at all times then get the hell out of there! Keep your cell with you and on, if he tries to keep you, you know the number to dial.

yes you are right to feel abused,
I am very sorry that this happened to you, and would like you to try to remember that you did nothing wrong.

I would suggest calling your local rape crisis center, they can offer service to help you and should you want to press charges or sue your doctor they can help you with that as well.

Yes! Of course!
If you think that any doctor of ANY kind has passed the line between professional to creepy, you need to first tell him that you're not okay with it, and tell him to back off. If you're not comfortable(which I wouldn't be) with staying with him as a ob/gyn, get a new one, if at all possible. Even if the firm that you're currently attending says that this isn't possible at the time, tell the staff what happened, and I'm sure they will find a way, if they have any sense at all. If he continues to harass you in any way, which means if he continues to procede on asking you out, coming to your house, ect. file an official report with the police, and find a way with oomph to tell him to **** off.
Now, I have no idea if he will go this far, but, it's always good to be prepared, so don't just sit at home, make sure that if he does try anything, you can be ready.

OOHHH yesss,,, you have every right to feel abused,,, he shouldn't have touched you like that,, and if made you feel uncomforatable, yes,, that is sexuall harasment. and sexual assault,, you should say something about it to some one. Hove you been going to this Dr. very long? has he done this to you in the past. Why would he think you would, want to go out with him? Is he that sick or maybe he does like you, for more then just a fling. Is he Married?

good luck

REPORT HIM !!!!!!

Was this answer helpful to you?  Yes  /  No

You should be able to report him if it is your desire to do so. First, start by filing a complaint with whoever owns the practice, or...if it was a hospital, file a complaint with the chief of staff.

If you dont get a response, find out which regulatory board governs family physicians in private or public practice in your state and start the process there.

Be advised that it could be long, frustrating, and you may get nothing out of it since it'll ultimately be your word against his.

My advice, cleanse yourself of this bad experience spiritually, pray for healing and peace of mind...and find another doctor.

You are right to feel violated. I would absolutely feel the same way. Not to mention that if it didn't feel right, it probably wasn't right. You need to report this incident so that he gets the proper punishment for it. Imagine what could happen if he continues this.

Yes!!! You are totally right to feel abused. That was completely out of line on his part. I'm not sure who you should report this offense to, I'm leaning towards the AMA...American Medical Association, if not them, then someone there could lead you in the right direction. This should definitely be reported, you have been violated, and that is not right. If you speak up, I'm sure others will come out, and say they have experienced this happening with him also. I wish you the best of luck in whatever route you decide to take...Best Wishes!!

You need to report him immediately. What he did to you is one of the most unethical things a professional person could do.
He needs to be held accountable for his behavior. His nurse has an obligation to report him also. You can contact law enforcement, county social services or the medical board.

Call the authorities. Sriously make a formal complaint about him. Also you can call the AMA (American Medical Association) and ask where to report him. You can find their number on the web or call 411 or information and ask for their local listing.

the nurse is their for a reason
she is to ensure a proper non sexual exam,
in fact most doctors want the nurse their for fear of being accused and sued
now you can sue him
as you have a good case
go to lawyer who specialize in such cases and have him served immediately and have her subpoenaed as a witness
