Everyone has different bone structures so it sort of depends on yours. being shorter is also harder with weight. but you are 12 years old and it is so easy to loose weight at that age all you have to do is find something u like.. any sport, going on walks or just yoga or streching in your room. eating is also a huge part i no me, i eat what ever looks good even when im not hungry so try instead of grabbing a bag of chips, putting a few chips in a bowl. its good to have a lot of little meals and try to stay away from things like bread, instead eat lots of fruit cause its naturaly sweet and good for you. it wont be hard to loose a few pounds and you may feel better about yourself and thats always good. but remeber that what you see on tv is not the normal size... not even close so stay healthy. * Underweight = < 18.5
* Normal weight = 18.5-24.9
* Overweight = 25-29.9

If you find yourself comfortable when you look at yourself in the mirror.. (not hiding anything from yourself, no cheating with clothing), then you aren't fat.
If you're comfortablewith the way you look, then I'd be willing to bet you that everyone else is comfotable with the weight that you are. if you're not comfortable with your weight, then go on a diet (not one of those crazy things) just cut out your dessert from your daily routine meal.
its all about comfort.. because it's your body.

Unfortuneately i had done your bmi and this is the results...
you are overweight and that the you shouldnt be more than 109 lbs.


but heres my advice k?
Im 14..i have lost 26 lbs.
Just eat healthyy like forget about junk food nd just think about you nd you being your desirable body size when u have cravings.

Workout! My workout routine is 45 and 20 minutes..i do 45 one day then 20, etc. I also take one rest day.

I lost 2-3 lbs a week..and as corny as this sounds..i know u can do it kk? =) dont be putting yourself down because i kinda got tht vibe when i read your question

yes you have a higher than average BMI - body mass index (27.1) a healthy BMI is between 18-25 for a teenager
BUT
you are NOT teenager yet, you need to wait for puberty to really hit in, you will just have some puppy fat that most people carry with them from childhood for a while.

the best thing you can do is be conscious of what you eat - keep junk for an occasional treat (try to limit it to one packaged food a day if you can) and get into lots of sport.
swimming and team sports are really easy to pick up.

and dont worry, you will have growth spurts and you will get taller and probably gain more weight but this is normal, just try to be healthy while it happens.

remember to live up these last months as a kid, try not to stress over weight, but do tell your parents you want to eat healthier and they should be supportive.

Long story short, yes you are a bit overweight.

My recommendation: Eat healthier, eat less, exercise. Don't take the bull **** subway, it's healthy yeah, but eating doesn't help lose weight.

Eating = calories = weight.

Eat things with less calories, that are healthy, and again exercise.

Well really the question is, do you feel comfortable with yourself? If the answer is yes, then thats great! But if your a feel a little worried about a couple extra pounds then I would suggest a light workout plan such as running, jogging, or walking. You can cut back an unbelievable amount of calories just by drinking diet soda, even though it will take some getting used to. Another great way to help loose those couple extra pounds is by portion control and paying attention to grams of fat, sugar and especially saturated fat. Good luck! And remember to be smart about losing weight and dont be scared to ask your health professional for advice, support, and help.

Your are too young to worry about that kind of stuff. When I was your age there was a girl in my class who was very over weight. Well a couple years ago I was at the store and a beautiful sexy blond walked up to me like I was supose to know her or something. It was her, and she was sexy. Just give it time, dont worry and your body will grow up and mature how God want's it to.

At your age you should weigh about 103-113. You're not that much overweight and with plenty of exercise and outdoor play you should be able to shed the pounds quickly. Also considering that you are a young age I believe you can lose the weight quickly. Try to get out more. Get involved with a sport such as tennis or track. I'm sure you have activities at your school. If you do this you will be able to not only lose the weight but to live a much healthier and happy life. In order to lose weight you should do cardio exercise. Cardio allows you to lose over all body fat. Don't lift weights! Just concentrate on cardio exercises such as running, bike riding, jogging...etc. Trust me you will be just fine. Also you will want to cut your meals in half. I wouldn't suggest dieting at your age because you need all the nutrients and well balanced meals. Just minimize your intake. Cut back on potato chips and don't eat when your not hungry. Eat in moderations. I do encourage small snacks such as apples, Celery (Celery is not only healthy for you but it fills you up fast), oranges between meals. Cut back on sodas and start drinking more water. Make it a point to cut back on half your juice intake and double your water intake. Follow those directions and you will start to notice a difference in about 4-6weeks. Good luck!!!!

i'd say yes you are slightly over weight. i remember in my health class the "average" female weight range should go something like this:
5ft = 100 pounds
every inch after that would be 5 pounds.
so, if a girl was 5'1, she should weigh 105 pounds.

i think this goes for female adults, and shouldnt be what you base your weight to, just maybe as a little guidleine to see where you're at. also, you are young, i have plenty of friends who were a bit overweight at 12 and when they became 15 they weren't anymore. just stay active, eat healthy,and be smart about losing weight.

first of all don't listen to the mean words people actualy take time to write! good for you for being aware of your health issues and for asking for advice. and ya, so you are a bit overweight you're still young, a lot of kids no matter what they eat or how much exercise they do they will always grow out than up than out and then up and so on. i know it's difficult to eat the right foods in a society on the run all the time but you got to always avoid any fast food at all none ever is the only way to eat fast foods! sugar is not just something that makes weight gain come quickly but too much is bad for all sorts of parts of your body and most of all during puberty. sorry this is so long. are you happy? are you healthy? than be who you are. if you want to be thinner than you'll have to make an effort like aerobics and eating only home cooked foods no frozen dinners and premade stuff from the frozen section and sweets only once a week. try talking to your school nurse for help on proper diet and exercise. you can eat all you want as long as you avoid sugar, salt, butter and things like gravy, mayo and so on. take care

uhm idkk for sure.
but the best way would be to measure your bmi.
you can find them online, you just enter your age, weight, height etc & it calculates the total amount of body fat for you.
