tampons are flushable...but if your plumbing system can't handle it for some reason...just wrap them up in a lot of tissue get a plastic bag and throw it out in the trash outside.

Heyy um i just wanna check this quick are you a guy?? Your avatar says you are??
Any who ill answer your question anyways
My friend has the same problem her mum died when she was only 10 and when she was 13 she started her period!
and at home there was no trash can in the bathroom, so she just went and said
hey dad i started my period and since i have to use pads and tampons and there is no garbage in the bathroom what do you want me to do with them?? and he was all like okay hun and put garbage in bathroom!
If you use tampons sometimes you can flush them
if you use pads put them in the garbage because they will clogg the toilet up because they absorb stuff right??
Anyways if you just said hey dad can you put a garbage in the bathroom so that when im on my period i can just throw my stuff in the trash??
Im sure he will understand and do it for you
unless he has a different thing you can do.
Any who good luck with your dad everything will be fine
promise
Ambra

I was a young teen living with my dad too.
Dispose of tampons in the toilet, pads in the trash can. Always wrap any hygeine products in toilet paper (whether at dads or not) before throwing them in a trash can.
But trust me, your dad doesn't really care, of course he's probably a bit in 'awe' in his little girls growing up, but he's not as squeemish as you may think.

In the trash?
Don't try flushing everything down the toilet, it could cause clogging.
But if you worried about him seeing them, and being embaressed - What I usually do is roll the tampon cardboard thing up in tissue and put it in the trash. Then I throw the wrapper part and the actual tampon in the toilet. That should be fine.

this is a commom question that is asked by girls bc they don't want their dad to know, when I had mine i had to tell my mom to buy me pads and such but eventually my dad found out bc I had gone to the doctor's and they needed to know if I had had my menstral yet. Every girl goes through it no matter if you tell your dad or he finds out on his own he know's your gonna have it, so for now just put it in the cover rap it up tight and hope that he won't make that big a deal of it.

What about the dustbin outside the house? It's unlikely for your dad to rummage through the dustbin.

when your done with them role them up in a tissue and put them in the garbage but make sure they are not sticking out with blood or else your dad might think there is something wrong with you or that your sick or something. Bathrooms at restaurants or at school or any business with a bath room has these white containers in each stall roll the tampon up on put it in the white container.

Dont flush them cuz you're dad might be a bit annoyed when you plug up the toilet, just wrap them in toilet paper or a plastic bag and put them in the bin, but make sure you empty the bin frequently!

Umm, are you a guy? Because your avatar suggests that you are.
Anyway, whether you are or not, I'm going to answer your question. All you need to do is have a quiet word with your dad and ask him if you can get a bin for in the toilet/bathroom for you to dispose of your tampons in. The best sort of bin to have would be one with a lid, so that the contents are out of sight. As long as you make sure that the tampons are securely wrapped up in toilet paper or the next tampon's wrapper, it'll be fine. Empty the bin regularly yourself and there'll be no need to worry :)

Don´t worry about it. Wrap them up and throw them in the bin.
I suspect he used to live with your mother before. Where did she put them? Believe me, he´s used to it.
It´s natural and nothing to be ashamed of.

Don't flush them, this can cause blockages in the sewerage system. I am in the country, and a lodger flushed hers, and it completely blocked my septic tank. Tampons don't disintegrate fast enough, and must cause problems at local sewers.
Don't know what facilities you have. If there are any solid fuel fires, you can burn them. Otherwise, just wrap them in paper/plastic, and bin them.

Wrap them up and put them in the bin, if you dont feel comfortable doing thaat then invest in some nappy bags and use them to put them in before putting them in the bin. Dont flush them as it blocks drains and is rather disgusting for the sewage workers to fish them out

Wrap them in toilet paper or in a little bag (you can get Lavender scented bags on the same isle as tampons and pads) and throw in the bin. You could always switch to menstrual cups then you don't have to worry about disposing of anything, healthier and cleaner than tampons too.
Tampons CANNOT be flushed!
Tampons expand when they absorb fluids, it can block up your toilet and pipes, it also costs water authorities millions trying to fix the problems caused by people flushing inappropriate things such as tampons.
