Emily	it's really not that big of a deal when you get it for the first time. on tv and stuff they'll show people who get it on their pants and are so embarassed, but for me, it didn't happen like that. when it comes, it comes, just always carry little pads or something around for when it does. A S	I was 11 when I got mine. But it comes at any age really. My friend is 16 and still hasn't gotten hers. You're not abnormal, it's just different for everyone! But just so you're prepared: It's not red at first usually. It's brown, so you might think it's something else. But it's 99% your period. When you get it, tell your mom! Unless you're in school then go directly to the nurse. She should have spare pads or tampons :D And start off with Pads. video production	I was 11, playing outside(in white jeans) and noticed blood, I didn't ever have that "talk" with my mom because I mostly lived with my dad. But anyway, like I said I was outside, and I actually had to use the bathroom, when I wiped I noticed blood, I stuck tissue in my underwear and went right back outside, and my mom noticed it when she was cleaning the laundry the next day. little_one16	I didn't start my period til I was your age. I was really anxious too lol and now I'm 16. That excitement starts to wear off once you actually start. It inter fears with swimming and what you're going to wear and it also, has effect on your attitude. Anyway, my story is this....The night before I started I was so sick and I kept getting up getting sick and my stomach hurt sooo badly. Then, I had to get up one more time (remember this is at 1:00 or 2:00 in the morning when this happened so you can imagine how sleepy I was lol) and I blacked out, fanted, I don't know how long I was out for, but when I woke up I didn't feel sick anymore and I quit hurting so I went back to bed and fell asleep. After I awoke, I had to use the bathroom and when I did that's when I started. My mom had got pads for me like a month before this happened. I guess it's one of those sences that a mother has, but I felt scared there for a moment, but mature too. Now, I hate it ha ha. You will feel like a changed person, a woman when you start for awhile, but pretty soon it will get old and you will wish you never started. Also, the normal time a woman goes is 4 to 7 days posablly 8 and you only go 1 week every month until you get really old. So just injoy every moment you have before your time lol. Good Luck! just me(:	i had mine at the age 10 like 2 weeks before i turned 11 =S yeah.. weird me but it was actually better because now that i am 14 i know exactlly what to do in a emergency.. now ..you haven't had your period, i recommend you to take a sanitary towel everywhere you go, so if you get your period while you are out in the street or at some party you will not have any problem.. also at school,try having one all the time in your backpack so you can have it for any emergency at school hope it helps you :) xoxoAddie Was this answer helpful to you? snow	normal normal normal. I started to develop at 9 but didn't get my period till I was 14 but even if it takes till you are15 or longer don't worry. Next time you see Doctor ask them about it. bubble.blower	my first period happened in 7th grade on the first day of the STAR testing! it really sucked! i didnt know where my mom put the pads and stuff so i had to use tissue. when i got to school i asked my friend who already started if i can borrow some of hers. all day when i was taking the test, thats all i can think about... it was VERY stressful!! but it turns out that when i got my results back i did the best i've done before! good luck when you get yours!
