Super Whore!!!!!!!	Tampons don't give you cancer, however if you aren't careful and you leave them in for more than 8-12 hours, you can get Toxic Shock Syndrome, which is incredibly life threatening. It is safe to leave tampons in overnight as long as you remove them as soon as you wake up. I would definitely give them a try if I were you, because they make periods so much easier to deal with. You can go swimming with them, and you don't have to worry as much about leaking or other embarrassing things like that. Just be careful and be sure to read the instructions that come with the box. video production	They don't give you cancer. That is just a myth. But they can be dangerous if you don't use them right. For example if they remain in you for too long there is something called TSS. For me I don't use tampons they make my stomach hurt, but that doesn't mean you will have the same results. As long as you use them as instructed you shouldn't have any problems. Lauren R	They are completely safe as long as you dont wear them for longer than 8 hours at a time. If you wear them for too long you could get a thing called TSS or Toxic Shock Syndrome. However if you change you tampon every eight hours at the least you will be fine. Tampons are great. Tampons are generally safe and many women use them for their convenience as opposed to a bulky pad. However your aunt is partially right, tampons can be bad if used improperly. Some women will use tampons in conjunction with pads because extended use of tampons can cause Toxic Shock Syndrome also known as TSS. Just be careful and don't leave the tampon in all day. Toxic Shock Syndrome is the only bad thing about a tampon but it is extremely rare and totally preventable by fooling the directions on the box. Millions of women wear tampons. SunnyMoon	Your aunt is mistaken. Tampons don't give you cancer. I've been using them for about 20 years and have had no problems. There is a risk of getting something called Toxic Shock syndrome with tampons. This comes from leaving them in too long (like for more than 24 hours). Try tampons. You'll be fine. I dont get why alot of girls are afraid of them if you put it in right, you dont even feel it (but it kinda hurts the first few times) and wearing a pad feels like a diaper. just make sure you change it ATLEAST once ever 8 hours Although ive accidently left one in overnight, and nothing bad happened. BaronessNox	Your aunt has been misled- tampons do not give you cancer. By the smallest size tampon for the flow of your period, change it often (every six hours at least) and make sure you only wear them during your period (not "just in case") and you will be fine. Tampons used to be blamed for a lot of things.
