I don't think you should be alarmed at this point....as you said, some girls get their periods later. You should really consider this as a blessing. And don't think that just because you get your period that you are a grown person. Maturity has nothing to do with your period. You will get it, and when you do, you will see that it isn't going to change things all that much.

my mom got her period and so did my grandmas at 11..
I'm 13 and still...no period...ugh!!!
i want mine for a different reason.. because everyone else has it and i want it because i want a big responsibility like them.
well i heard that a period comes when you really don't expect it.. so I'm trying my hardest to forget about it. then when i least expect it....!!!!!!

Ignore "GoSox" bc it's completely normal. It doesn't mean that you will have a flat chest either.

Did you ask your mother to bring you to the doctor? Maybe you could do that to get a check up and make sure you are healthy.
Also, 11-12 is kind of early but it all depends on the individual, I didnt get mine until I was 16! You are probably right on track, be happy you dont have it yet because once you get it it doesnt go away for about 40 years!

This is very normal. I would not worry about it. Trust me, the less time you have to deal with it, the better off you are. I got mine later and I am fine.

Nope, it's not unusual to not have your period yet. Girls get them at different ages, even within family. Mine came later than yours, after 15. Not saying that's when yours will come, but if you are worried, your Mom can take you to the doc for a test. Also, they can do an ultrasound for ovary development, etc.
ANd so you know, if needed they can jump start you will pills of hormones.

they are other girls out there like you. sometimes you tend to start around the same age as other girls in your family and sometimes you don't. my friend's older sister started three years after her when she was 16 and there was nothing wrong with her. if you're worried then you can to talk to someone but personally you're not missing out on anything, you should be glad that your periods haven't started yet because you don't have period pains.

Everyone is different.
It is completely normal to not have your first period up to 16 in some cases....
If at 16, if you have not had a period, then worry.

You are perfectly fine! Are you more active than your sisters or your mother? Activity level and weight both can affect when you get your period.
Don't worry! Enjoy not having it while you can!!!!

Oh! What a ridiculous answer GoSOX..just ignore him.
Don't worry you are o.k..... Not all the women in a family get their period at the same age. I was 17 my sister's both 13. My Daughters 12 14 16..
Some girls start puberty at age 8, and others may start as late as 14 or 15. Each girl goes at her own pace. So don't think you're weird if you start puberty a little earlier or a little later than your friends.
Your probably getting ready any time now but don't be in a hurry. Go to the web-site below for the signs so you will know when to be prepared. Good Luck!

Oh! my. I think if you started 2 years later than your sisters than you need to have a talk with your mom. I don't think you should be penalized for not bleeding on time. Your mom should be happy you're a late bloomer and give you a prize for having such a long time penalty. You deserve to get your ears pierced.

Everyone is different. I don't know if it matters that the rest of the ladies in the family started earlier than you. They say a lot of factors can cause changes in your period, so maybe stressing out over it is causing it to hold of longer. If there is no chance that you could be pregnant, then I don't think there is anything to worry about. If you feel that it could be a problem, then go to your doctor and ask. They would know more about it. If you don't want to go in, you can try giving your doctor a call and then let them decide if you should be seen by them.

you just might be a late bloomer. Stop worrying about it, and you will probably get your period soon. If you don't have it by the time you are 14, ask your mom to take you to a doctor. You can also research that question on the internet if you are really worried.

Your body is different. Don't worry, it will be here before long and you will wish it away!
If you don't get it by the time your 15 or 16, I would speak with a Gyno. But, don't worry!
its normal.

You're normal. Sometimes if the mom has theirs early, the kid might get hers late....
Buy a pack of pads (or tampons and pantiliners) and read how to use them and carry a few in your purse so you are ready when your period does start. Until then, enjoy not having it.

I didn't get my period until I was almost 16. My LITTLE sisters got theirs at 12 and 14. I know it's hard when everyone around you gets to experience something that you don't, but there isn't anything that you can do to make it come faster. Once you get it you'll be glad that you got an extended break from it :D. It's good that you're expecting it in a positive light and not dreading it.
