Just tell her. Though it may hard to comprehend, she was once a teen girl battling telling your grandmother about her period. She'll understand. Don't be afraid of your period. Every girl will get one. Good luck!

I would just tell her. Every woman gets it and it's nothing to be ashamed about. But if your embarrassed to talk about it to her, you can write her a note also.

oh wow.
well you do need your mom, she'll give you advice and remember SHE WAS WHERE YOU ARE NOW so first off calm down because every woman gets her period sometime in her life and soon enough it will not be a big deal....
just suggest that you need some pads because its the time of the month, if you are scared she will freak- tell her privately.
congratulations! hahah

Why wouldn't you tell ur mom ur on ur period?
That's the first person I went and told.
Just go and sit her down and tell her what happened...She'll know what to do and tell u what to do...she'll be open and honest with you and she'll expect the same in return...so just go and tell her what happened.....I promise you won't regret it..
Hope this helps

at least you got yours at home and not at school, but anyway just put your clothes in the clothes basket and when she takes them out to wash them she will most likely question you about it...(just make sure not to leave them in there long...) I forgot how I told my mom, I think she just found out somehow.

I know it feels like a big deal, but get her alone and just tell her. Remember that she was once in your shoes, scared to tell her mom. She'll understand and find a way to make you more comfortable about it.

When I was still asleep early that Mon a.m. I felt something wet on my panties. I got up to go to the bathroom to see why I was wet and when I looked at my panties and saw the spot of blood on my panties.
Mom asked why I was up and I told her that I had started my period.
She helped me to get changed and went back to bed. She kept me out the whole week from school so that I could rest.
If you have other questions for me please feel free to e-mail or IM me off site any time.

Just tell her, so she can buy you the appropraite products. It is normal, happens to every woman. Why would you be afraid to tell her, there is no need to be. Just go and tell her "Mom", my visitor has arrived!!!!! Then when she looks totlay perplexed, just say mom I am on my period.
