HELP!! I can't stop eating!!!?
First of all, I'm not overweight or anything...I'm actually really skinny...well, I'm gaining weight and entering average weight. Anyway, I keep eating and I can't stop myself. I eat every hour.

Like, I'll eat pop tarts...and then an hour later eat a string cheese...and another hour later eat one hot pocket...and eat the other hot pocket an hour after that...and the next hour ill eat a sandwhich...and then a piece of chicken.

Is that normal? What is wrong with me? Why can't I stop eating?

I eat like that too lol by any chance, are you a teenager? teenagers eat a lot of food to accompany their growing bodies. nothing to worry about. =D

dont worry I go through that sometimes ...

Ive got an eating disorder and dont eat much at all its just i starve myself then one day i go mad and cant stop haha!

Do you eat normal amounts of food or have u been dieting cuz it cud be that your body has left starvation mode but dont worry you will be ok if you feel unhappy eat healthy things like tuna or salads they r great snacks

I was the same way when I was around 18yrs old...always hungry.
If it's not a small phase or growth spurt, I would see a doctor to make sure everything is ok in you digestive system.
This might sound gross, but you might have worms that are absorbing all the nutrients. It's not very likely,,,but a small possibility

first of all, you have way too much time in your hand. you have to find a way to use your time doing something that will prevent you from eating. for example, you could go to the gym (even though you're not over weight, you could always tone your body). you don't have to do excessive work out because you're not fat or anything. go to the gym for about an hour or so, that will take your mind of eating for awhile.
then you can take a vitamin supplement and lots of fiber because it will make you feel full without having to eat or add up extra pounds by taking extra calories.
at last, you could reward yourself with 100 calories pack snack for everyday you go without eating like a pig. it worked for me, I'm sure it will for you too if you're really dedicated.

im exactly like you. are you bored?? cos thats what i do when i am bored. try to get out, go walking instead. everytime you want to eat lots of food - make it a healthy snack.

Sounds like you eat out of boredom. Next time, before you eat anything, drink a bottle of water, you'll feel full, and they say most cravings pass within 15 minutes.

One good trick is to drink lots of fluids. Water, juice and natural sodas are all you should drink. Please don't drink Coke-Pepsi etc. Diet is just as bad as regular.

Maybe you're growing. If so, it's normal to be unusually hungry. You should still try to limit the pop tarts and hot pockets. Grab a banana or an orange or some hummus! OOh, if you have a sweet tooth, Trader Joe's has great sorbets!

you might be growing...its actuality good for your metabolism to eat frequently but you should make better choices less hot pockets and more fruit or salad, cheese is good and sandwiches

I dunno if its normal but you should replace those hot pockets and cheese snacks for healthy stuff because it could get out of hand fast and you could gain weight like crazy and it would be really hard to lose it

I'm not sure but ya its okay. I was like that for a day i was sick and i was eating like crazy. Try eating something big. Like a meal or something. So your not going back and eating every hr.

How old are you? At different stages of your life, your body will require more food.

Also, try eating high protein foods. Sugary things like poptarts are not going to fill you up as well as chicken or nuts, and not for as nearly long. Think 'real food'. Vegetables and fruit are other good choices.

Well theres a couple reasons...
First it could be because your growing.
Another thing it sounds like is its because ur snacking on things all day...there not actual meals. TRy this for a couple days an see if it helps an ur hunger subsides a bit. TRy makeing actual dinners, breakfast, lunches a 2 snacks somewhere in the day prefrably usually around noon or so.

Try eating healthier foods too that r lighter or chew gum when u feel like u need to eat.

This also sounds like ur eating out of boardem...im super skinny too & for awhile in the summer i seriously felt like u...i felt like wow wtf i never full or i wouldnt feel hungry but i wouldnt feel full either so i would just eat an eat but never feel full so i would just eat the next hour....etc. It was more of a month stage after i started doin things & etc. i was back to eatin my regular self...but i eat a **** load anyways since i have a really really fast matabilism it doesnt matter to me how much i eat & how often...but i kno wat ur tlakin abt.
Also try not to think abt it allt he time subcosiouly ur "makein" ur self feel hungry cuz ur thinkin abt it allt he time...ry doin things to get u busy so u dont hav time to think abt it.

Otherwise if this continues to b a huge problem try seeing a docter.

Make sure this isnt a stress relief either...has there been any drama or etc. R u stressin over school, a job or r ur parnts fighting. R u tryin to cope with something...is this comfort eating becuz u feel bad abt urself or feel unatractive? If not then everything should b fine & its probably osmethin i said above..but again if this continues for more then 2 months go see a docter, & the can prob tell u wat exactly is goin on.

you can't stop eating because you're eating the wrong things which aren't filling you up and in essence are making you eat more and more over time because you're literally eating garbage junk food instead of meals.

You need to sit down and eat THREE full meals a day. Not a little of this, then a little of that an hour later, then maybe a little bit of that later on.

You need to eat filling foods such as protein, tuna fish is very good for you and fills you up longer than other foods.

Start your day with a bowl of instant oatmeal which is healthy and will keep you full until the afternoon.

You may be compulsively eating as well. Are you under stress or worrying about things? Sometimes people don't eat when they are anxious, and others eat more.

You may also be over eating because you're bored. Say you're just sitting around the house just watching television and you walk to the kitchen and you grab food "just because." But not because you are actually hungry.

OR you may have some sort of oral fixation. Next time you run to grab food, sit down and ask yourself "Am I actually hungry or am I just grabbing food, just to eat?" Next time you have the urge to grab food, chew gum.

You do need to get all the nutrients to grow though. You're constantly eating because your body is not being properly nourished; therefor creating cravings for random food.

Get into an environment where food isn't as readily available. Also, if you're eating out of boredom, I would eat vegetables (maybe carrot bites).

1st...you eating and not really gaining is not going to last...its only because you are fairly young. if you continue down this path you will gain a lot of weight all of a sudden, no warning, nothing. This happened to me...I used to be able to eat whatever I wanted, cakes, chinese food, pizza, pastas, mcdonalds, i was skinny and never thought anything of it. all of a sudden a few yrs later..i was fat. it sucked. And I didnt know how it happened (duh..I couldnt be lucky forever).

Try to mix some healthier things in even though you eat a lot...only have fast food and things like pop tarts once a week. Excersixe and you should be fine.

The problem is the types of foods you are eating. They are not nutritious, so your body never gets the good vitamins, minerals and nourishment it needs. If you spent a day eating veggies and fruit for snacks, your eating and cravings would change, because your body becomes satisfied.

It's normal. But you might want to pick better, healthier choices if your worried about gaining weight. There's nothing wrong with eating all day long . . ., it's what foods your choosing to eat that can be the problem.

If you are at a normal weight, there is nothing wrong with eating multiple meals a day. It is better to eat more smaller meals throughout the day because it boosts your metabolism. You still have to watch what your eating...cause snacking on chips, and junk food will only make you gain unhealthy weight. If you feel you want to eat more small meals throughout the day, snack on fruit, or vegetables, or healthy snacks.

it sounds like you are a young girl that is sitting at home on the computer with nothing else to do hahaha but taht is cool as long as you keep your self in shape. keep doin them crunches and it will be good. you are not alone me and my girl are the same way.

You're not eating too much, but you are making unhealthy food choices. For example, Pop Tarts are nothing but sugar. You eat all of that sugar, your blood glucose shoots up, but crashes way down, thus making you even hungrier. Opt for lean proteins and complex carbohydrates such as an egg white omelet made with low-fat cheeses, salsa, veggies, and a side of whole grain toast.

You need to sit down and have a square meal. Food that will leave you full and not be eating every hour. All that is junk food you are eating.

Eat some protein, pasta and vegetables.
