jolenekarmann	I don't think it's bad, but it can be awkward. If you asking your girlfriend or really close female friend, it's probably okay--but don't be surprised or offended if she doesn't want to talk about it. Some people are really sensitive about stuff like that. Definitely don't ask any girl you don't know really well, or any girl you think would feel really uncomfortable about it. I think it's natural for guys to want to know about periods, just like girls want to know about penises. It's natural to be curious about a physical process that doesn't happen to your gender. My husband didn't ask about it until we had been dating for awhile, and when I asked what he knew about it, he was totally wrong!
