Nope. It's normal not to have your period when you're 12.

Probably not, many girls don't get their period til they are 13 or even 14...I read somewhere that if you don't get it by 16 you should consult a docter. But you sound perfectly fine...just wait maybe a year and you'll get it.

What did you do? If nothing then don't worry. Or if you mean "i've never got my period in my life"... then don't worry at all.
Note to poster : Your mother decided to tell you at 12 that way you'de be prepared when it does happen. No surprises. ;)

Every girl is different. You will get your period eventually. I got my period when I was only 10 years old and my friends didnt get theirs untill they were in the 6th grade. My mother didnt even get hers untill she was 15! So no girl is alike. Just dont stress over it becouse it will come sooner or later. Dont stress :)

I wouldn't be too worried. All girls tend to start at different times. If you haven't started by age 16 then you should be a little concerned but if you feel it would make you feel better you might go see a doctor.

I was 14 when I got mine (I am 16 now). Don't be worried. It is a natural part of life that all women go through. That's why were cooler than dudes.
Besides, without Aunt Flo, there would be no uncles.

It will happen when it happens.

No, you should not be worried. You could get it at any time. Ask your mom when she started because that can give you an idea of when you will start. My mom started her period at age 11 and I started mine at age 13.
A good site where you can get additional information is at: http://www.girlshealth.gov

one of my girls has regular periods and she is 14 the other doesnt have periods very often and she is nearly 16 we are all different.when your mum tells you about periods ask her where the baby came from that she is having then she will answer your sex question too.its your best chance to get everything answered.i would worry more about loss of sleep or the toddler messing up your stuff in 2 years time more than autism.which isnt likely.good luck

not at all... it comes to different girls at different ages. I was 15 before I got mine... I was the last one in my freshmen class. I felt odd cuz I was the only one without it... but looking back, I survived (grin). Just be patient. It will come when you least expect it.... lol.

no. There are certain biological changes you have to complete before that happens and not a whole lot of twelve year olds have. Body hair - armpits and legs, Sweat gets strong odor ( you now use deodorant because you have to). Zits. mood swings. breasts staring to hurt a little /grow a little. hips get bigger. All of this happens because your brain has dumped a large amount of hormones in your body as the final stage of your growth into an adult body. Having a period=being fertile/capable of becoming pregnant and that happens somewhere in the middle of that stretch of years.

You should not be worried; it is a normal thing. Everybody gets their period at a different age. Some can be as young as 8 or 9 and some can be as old as 17 or 18. You have nothing to worry about. Just make sure you are leading a healthy lifestyle and be happy you have a mom that is willing to talk to you about these kinds of things. And, until you get it, enjoy the fact that you don't have to worry about it.
Best of luck to you.

Lots of women don't get their menstrual periods until they're as old as 17. Everyone is different; you're simply being you. If you make it to 18 and you haven't started (VERY VERY VERY unlikely!!!), then you can worry. For now, you're fine :-)

I got mine at 17. Don't worry, just be sure you get your yearly checkups--if there's anything to worry about, it's likely they'll catch it then. In my case, I was pretty scrawny and a bit anemic, and the body will often delay periods if it thinks you can't spare the blood loss...but they arrived eventually and everything works fine now.

My younger sister is 14 and she still doesn't have her period.
The doctors say it's totally normal, but if she doesn't get it by the time she's 16, they'll induce it with a hormone drug.
You have absolutely nothing to worry about.

Don't be worried at all!
Sometimes, people don't get their period until they are 16. I got mine when I was 14. I was soo eager to get it, because all my friends had. Now I realize it was dumb of me to do that, cause it sure can be a pain sometimes!
Even if you know some people who have gotten theirs already, know that everyone grows at different rates. Relax, it'll happen when your body is ready.
