I started in 6th grade and that was a long time ago, so I don't remember if I had cramps beforehand or not. But, I'd say you will probably start soon, so keep a tampon or pad in your purse just in case you start somewhere other than at home. I know it can be a real headache to get your period in the middle of a store or while in school. Good luck hon.

I didn't get mine until i turned 14. Usually you get cramps about a week before your period, but it is different for everyone. It is especially different when you are just starting. I dont know but good luck hun!

ok, the stomach, where is it? The cramping that comes with your mentral cycle is in the ovaries. Find a chart and see where they are. The ovaries shed it's lining monthly when pregnancy has not occurred. The blood is that lining. It is meant to help feed and grow a baby. Some women experience cramping and some don;t. Some have a lighter flow while others have heavy. You'll discover many types of sanitary napkins, tampons, shield. You don't want to mess up a dress, panties, and whatever. Plus, it is imbarrassing. You neeed to visit a doctor if you exparance any complications. My advice is to have a female gynocologist. How can a man know how you feel? Woman Gyno............. and rremember, this puts you in the "capable of getting pregnant" category, so keep those knees together. No stupid boy is worth it. sandy

ok hun relaaaax.
now believe me our experiences wont make one tiiiiny bit of difference to you.
i was completely different to all my friends.
but i was 14.
and when im on, and just before i do eat soooooo much junk food. literally i can eat 3 meals in one evening (not that i did that tonight or anything.... lol)
and yeah all my friends have that tooo with the food. we'll go to the shop during lunch and literally buy the whole thing!! (we seem to come on at the same time! haha)
but yeah, it sounds like you'll get it soon. but then, they say 6-18 months after you get a clear disharge, i had 3 years, they say the same age as your mother, we had 2 1/2 years difference!!!
but generally, it'll pop up on that day you dont want it to, mine came right before i had a double period of media studies, no pads or anything, and i had to sit still for 1hr 40mins, worrying what would happen when i stood up the whole time!! luckily my teacher was really nice, so it worked out, and i was only really light the first day.
anyways, dont worry, keep pads in your bag, and everyday act like you could start, because believe me, the day you change bags and forget to bring pads, will be the day you start!!! good luck hun!!

It could just be! Ask your Mom when she had hers. Usually mothers and daughters have their period around the same time.
I was 13 when I had mine.

Yes, that is a sign. Wear panty liners for the next week or so, just in case you start. It helps with the mess.
