Heating pads, Motrin and you could try an OTC product like Pamprin, etc. It works quite well for me, actually. As long as you don't have caffeine sensitivities, as there is caffeine in that particular product.

Place a hot water bottle on your lower tummy and lay down. If you can't do that try Midol or a similar products made for relieving cramps.

It can be hard to get motivation when you're in
so much pain but trust me once you get going
you will feel much better.

Heating pad and Tylenol. Sorry sweetie! If you don't have a heating pad put some hot water in a large water bottle and hold that on your tummy.

I really like Midol. Take it as soon as the cramps begin or even a day or two before you are supposed to start.

CHOCOLATE!!!......CHOCOLATE!!!......CHOC...
and of course take something like Pamprin or other brand name monthly pain Reliever that's specific for that symptom.....drink some hot Green Tea with antioxidants in it so it helps to cleanse your system of toxins and can help relieve the cramping.......also having a heating pad across the belly and alternate to the lower back every few minutes will feel especially good......also let your doc know how it affects you and he could recommend outpatient surgery called D&C and uterine balloon ablation......
I had that procedure done to relieve me of cramps and very long periods......they use hot liquid that expands a balloon that's inserted into the uterus after the D&C has cleansed you from the old lining then the balloon part cauterizes the lining of the uterus and it's like new. It only takes about an hour or less and after recovery you go home that day with minimal cramping for about 2 days or less afterward but it was worth it.....it reduced the length of each period and regulated me.

How horrible are they? If you feel like you have abnormally painful cramps you can see your physician about it. There are prescription medications that can relieve the pain.

I take Ibuprofen, but until it kicks in, I go into a yoga pose that helps instantly: cobbler's pose, which is sitting with the soles of your feet touching, and your knees out. Basically, any position where you feel a stretch in your inner thigh and hip area relieves the tension of cramps. Hope this helps you too!

start taking Ibuprofen a day or so before you get your period to let it get into your system. this is what my doc. has told me to do. then, when your cramps are really bad put the heating pad on or take a really warm bath.

Treat menstrual cramps using pickle juice - Simply drain the juice from a bottle of pickles and drink. You could also make the juice into popsicle to eat when you feel the cramps coming on. This remedy really works wonders.
Treat menstrual cramps using olive or corn oil - This is a remedy my great grandmother gave to me when I was a teenager. Simply heat a few tablespoons of either olive oil or corn oil in the microwave and massage into the lower area of your stomach and also on the lower back. If you do this every morning of your cycle you will be pain free for the cycle of your period. Hope this helps

I get those too..the worst...
I go to the side of something...mainly my couch and push my stomach against it. I also take asprin...and take nice baths with bath salt and soothing elements. Sure, you're taking a pretty bloody bath with your period and all...but its your own blood...nothing wrong with that =]
Pamper yourself at that time, try to be positive and happy =]

midol is great for cramps and bloating...but if it's mainly cramps, 2 Advil or Ibuprofen every 4 hrs....if it's still really bad, go to the doc...there might be something wrong.

I take a bath with hot water, rest covered by blankets and drink hot stuff like cofee or hot chocolate. I also take midol if the previous stuff does not work that much or if the cramps are horrible.

I am not a woman, however I will tell you that one of the best things for cramping is to regularly take Calcium. Not Centrum or one of those one a day pills, but Calcium from a health food store, that also contains Magnesium and Vitamin D. Calcium helps remove impurities from your muscle tissues. This helps to relieve many types of cramps all over the body.
It won't work over night, but if you start now next month should be better.
