If you don't insert it properly it will. Consult another woman you trust, or your gynecologist. |

Only if you're scared of it. If your muscles are tense, it will be hard to get it in but it probably won't hurt. For a first-timer I'd recommend getting a brand that advertises easy insertion, usually something plastic and slim. And remember, relax! You shouldn't feel a thing once it's in -- and you'll feel a lot cleaner without those yucky pads! |

Hey Sweetie :) I'm on a swim team, and the first tampons I got when i started my period were "Tampax Lites", Since i didn't have a heavy flow, inserting a super/regular would hurt to take out. Inserting the tampon dosn't hurt, it feels a bit wierd at first, but you'll get used to it :) You can e-mail me if you ahveany more questions :) Good luck! |

It doesn't hurt. The scariest part is doing it. It just feels uncomfortable. Once you get used to it, you'll never go back to pads. |

not nessesarily. if ur not a virgin it wont. but it depends. start with the smallest size of tampon first then work ur way up. it wont "hurt" persay, but it may be uncomfortable. and make sure u are doing it PERFECTLY right or IT WILL hurt |

No, it doesn't hurt if you insert it properly and follow the directions, and as long as you remove it before 6 hours and use a light absorbancy it is not bad for you or worse than a pad! I say try it! Once I started using tampons I couldn't go back to pads they're so messy and diapery!! You're going to have to learn how to sooner or later. You should now so you don't have to suffer with pads any longer and let your period control you! Pads are gross!! Tampons don't have anything to do with being a virgin, you can use a tampon with no problem, I use them all the time and I'm a virgin. If you need to learn how to insert it or have any of these type of questions go to beinggirl.com and it has answers to all of this. |

it might.. it depends as long as you know how to do it, it shouldn't be bad it might feel weird like the first few times you put it in, and when you sit down sometimes it feels weird but not to the point that it hurts |

Yes, you should feel a slight pinch and that is completely normal, and you will feel a little uncomfortable but after a few times you shouldn't feel a thing. Also when you buy a box of tampons they usually come with instructions, so make sure you insert the tampons right ... also don't forget to change your tampon every 2-3 hours. |

It doesn't hurt, but it may feel wierd/uncomfortable. Make sure you use the right sized tampon as well.... I would recommend lites/juniors. Also, get tampax pearl, I think those are the friendliest ones to use. When you put it in, just make sure to relax, as your muscles will tense if you are nervous and it will be harder to use. |

Depends, the hymen is a thin membrane inside your vaginal wall. It can already be partially torn if you're an athlete, or may be fully intact. Follow instructions on the box. Relax. Use an applicator. If you find that it won't slide in, use a KY Jelly (NOT vaseline or lotion) or similar lubricant and apply it to the tip of the applicator. You can put one leg on the toilet while standing or lie down. Just relax. If it does hurt, stop and try again later. |

No, not if put in right. And even then, it doesn't hurt. It may feel slightly uncomfortable. If you feel uncomfortable, take it out and try again. And only try when you are actually on your period, ok? |
