It sometimes hurts sometimes not depends on the individual. The reason for the pain is usually that a thin membrane breaks - it is called the hymen - but this can break before sex in which case sex won't hurt. Your sister shouldn't have hurt for days but it might have been a little sore as the vagina was stretched which it wasn't used to, so afterwards some might like to go without sex for a few days until it feels better.
If you are aroused, relaxed and wet, and the guy goes slowly and is Gentle, it shouldn't hurt much.

If your sister was in pain for days after her first sexual encounter then she went to bed with the wrong person and that guy should be shot.
Please be sure you have sex with someone you really care for and any pain you have will be worth it. You can have sex anytime you want after you lose your virginity, just be sure you know he's "clean."

Yes, it hurt pretty badly and he was being Gentle. The next day my stomach felt like i was beat with a baseball bat. My best advice, use lube or you will get dry and irratated. As for how soon can u have sex afterwards,,,we did it twice the first night then again the next morning,,,so you really dont have to wait. O yeah, and no matter how long you wait its still going to hurt, but make sure you choose the right guy,,its a special thing.

If your vagina has never had any stretching it might hurt alot!
It didn't hurt me but I used tampons before I lost my virginity and my boyfriend loosened me up with his fingers before we had sex. We did the fingering thing for nearly six months before we had sex.
It depends on how you feel as to how soon you can start having sex again. There is no rule. If you feel alright go again, if you hurt for a few days don't do it while you're in pain.
Don't give up your virginity just to give it up. Make sure you love the guy!
Good luck with everything!

it hurts a little bit. use some "water based lubricant". and a condom. It smells and feels kinda funny, but it will help a lot!! You can have sex the next day if you want too, but it will stil be kind of sore. It will hurt the first few times usually. If you are too scared to have sex, maybe you should think hard about it. Maybe you arent ready. If you are scared you probably arent ready yet :) just wait untill you are married/ engaged. Its what I did, I never regret it!!
****IF YOU ARE TOO EMBARASSED TO ASK HIM TO USE A CONDOM, THEN YOU ARE NOT READY!!***

Don't lose it. Really. Losing your virginity is like losing a priceless treasure. I haven't lost my virginity (and I don't plan to) but I have friends who lost theirs, and they had to pay a very high price for it.

you need to be properly aroused in order to have painless sex. A lot of times, due to nerves, the body doesnt produce its own lubercant in the vagina which leads to a lot of friction and pain. So when you are ready, you want to invest in a water based lubercant, and i say water based because oil based will actually make condoms not work properly. So you want to make sure that you use lots of lube on you, in and around your vagina, as well as on his penis.
Go slow, take your time and stop if it starts to hurt. It should be enjoyable and you shouldnt be in pain for days afterwords. Maybe sensitive but you shouldnt be in pain.
If your with a guy that you seriously trust- as you should be - then try breaking the event up over a few days... work on getting you properly lubercated and then start with the penitration, and when you feel more confortable with that, then try Gentle, slow movements.

Each womans body is different. Some woman I know had terrible pain. Others did not. Depends on many things such as (1) If a virgin wore tampons, (2) If a virgin has been "fingered" etc. You can have sex as much as you like after losing your virginity...Just depends on how "sore" you are. Make sure you use lubricant (and use a condom). That should help.

it depends on the person. a few women tear their hymans before they have sex, but you should have known if you have or not. if not then yes, it can be painful and may cause bleeding. for your second question "when can you have sex again after you loose your virginity" that is really up to you. i would probably wait until you have healed up. also dont forget to use protection!

If perchance a male genital is inserted into a vaginal cavity, the intensity of pain depends of various factors.
1) The size of the male genital (penis)
2) The size of objects previously inserted in the vagina
3) The position that your sexual intercourse is taking place in.
4) The "roughness" and speed of the humping.
5) If the females hymen has been broken (if not=blood)
6) The amount of lubrication applied, and the quality of slipperyness applied to these areas.
7) Depending on whether you have aquatic intercourse or not.
Hope these points help, and good luck with sex in the future.

My first time was sore and a bit bloody. I used a pad to absorb the blood. I could never use tampons before. It took about 2 days before the sore was away.

the more you do it the less it hurts. Please be careful though. Almost a 3rd of these questions on here comes from girls Young girls scarred they are pregnant. If you are old enough and mature enough to have sex then please use protection.

yeah i feel it hurts the first few times. The first is the worst. But you get used to it and along comes the pleasure!
I advise your first time to be with a guy who you love and trust. You don't have to be married or what ever. He will know your worried and help you through it. Take it slow. Clam and feel comfortable and safe in his arms. It will be alot easier then trying to hide it from him. And always use protection!

Well, it will hurt less if your hymen is not intact. Generally if you use tampons you don't have to worry about this. Also if your partner knows what they are doing and you both take it very slow. And of course if either of you are not secure enough to walk in to your local drug store and purchase condoms, then you should not even think about having sex until you can.

Weird, this question makes me kinda sad. I've never taken a girl's virginity.
But, if there was ever an ideal guy to lose it to, I'm the one. :P
Hope no one mistakes my sentiment for creepiness...

Ive been told that it does, of course it all depends on how gently the male is, if he does it romantically and gently versus hard and rough.

For some it hurts, for some it doesn't. Depends on the guy. Technically, according to health books etc, it's not supposed to, but some guys are bigger than normal and it might. It all depends.
