The shot itself is just a little prick. But if you have a reaction to the 'tetanus' serum, then yes it can make you have a sore arm for awhile.
I have this reaction to them. I get a big welt where it was injected and it gets hot too. Mine last for about 8 days. Not fun, true. But to get tetanus is far worse than that! So it is worth the trouble.
Don't fret! Just grin and bare it. It will be over and then you won't need another one for at least 7 years. Unless you get injured, then you may need a booster just to be safe.

If you go where they know how to do it; first they'll smack your upper arm which will, almost numb it you can't do it to self cause you expect the impact, then they insert the needle! The stuff in the shot is what may cause itching & or burning, not on everybody and not every time, but it is better than tetanus!

Not anymore than any other shot...pain is a relative thing, if you have a low tolerance for pain in general, you may experience a brief period of discomfort...it doesn't last too long though!

You feel a punch, your muscle is a little sore the next day. On a scale of 1-10, it rates about a .0001

The only reason people think shots hurt is because it is in our head that it will hurt.

It stings for a little while. It's because its a cold medicine being put into your hot blood. It's nothing to cry over, and it's definitely worth it to get that shot. The good thing is after it's done and over with, you don't have to do it again for another 10 years. It hurts a little the next day too..just a little sore but you'll live!

It varies from person to person. There is the sting of the needle, which is really not bad at all (actually, there is next to no pain if you are relaxed, but the more you tense up in anticipation, the more it hurts - psyching yourself out makes it seem much, much worse than it is). Afterwards many people get a soreness in their arm for a few days, for some it is very painful, but some people get no pain at all. If you sleep on your side and are concerned about pain, ask your doctor if you can get the shot on the side you do not sleep on, as this helps a lot.

The shot is not a big deal... A sore arm that feels like somebody punched it is kind of annoying.

the old ones did but the needles were HUGE HUGE like a 4 gage; these are smaller, like a 18 gauge or 20; the bigger the number the small the needles size, also they might SEEM to hurt because when a person hears theya re getting a tetnus shot they seem to tense up, and that makes the arm more hard to penetrate, thus yes, more pain in the muscle.
