I went through the same thing at your age and didn't get help finally at 20 when I wanted to just end it all I got help. Don't wait that long. Just talk to your parents about seeing a doctor and your doctor will tell you what to do from there. Depression sucks, but it can be overcome if you just try.

You should definitely talk to someone that you trust and that you love. Deal with it and have someone take you to the Dr.. Depending on whether you have started your cycle it could be related to hormones...our bodies are extremely complex (more complex than men's - thus the insensitive answer from the first answerer) Whatever you do just know you can get help and there are plenty of others who have been where you are.

You need to talk with your parent or parents and get some help. Depression can be serious although it is common to feel down from time to time. While you are doing that, please understand how valueable and important you are to God and ask him to forgive you of your sins and help you to lead a happy life. Believe in Jesus and thank God for what He did on the Cross to bring you eternal life.

I'm sorry to hear this and I know how it feels.Read what i got for u!. Took a pretty long time to get it anyway. Keep smiling. Be happy! and most important, follow this and do let me know how u felt!
1) Get Enough Light and Sunshine.
Lack of exposure to sunlight is responsible for the secretion of the hormone Melatonin, which could trigger
a dispirited mood and a lethargic condition.
Melatonin is only produced in the dark. It lowers the body temperature and makes you feel sluggish. If you are always cooped up in your room (with the curtains
closed), it would be difficult to restrain yourself from staying in bed.
This is the reason why many people are suffering from depression much more often in winter than in the other seasons. It's because the nights are longer.
If you can't afford to get some sunshine, you can always lighten up your room with brighter lights. Have lunch outside the office. Take frequent walks instead of driving your car over short distances.
2) Get Busy. Get Inspired.
You'll be more likely to overcome any feeling of depression if you are too busy to notice it. Live a life full of inspired activities.
Do the things you love. If you're a little short on cash, you could engage in simple stuffs like taking a leisurely stroll in the park, playing sports, reading books, or engaging in any activity that you have passion for and would love to pursue.
Set a goal - a meaningful purpose in life. No matter how difficult or discouraging life can be, remain firm and have an unshakable belief that you
are capable of doing anything you desire. With this kind of positive attitude, you will attain a cheerful disposition to beat the blues.
3) Take a Break.
Listen to soothing music. Soak in a nice warm bath. Ask one of your close friends to massage you. Take a break from your stressful workload and spend the day just goofing around. In other words, have fun.
4) Eat Right and Stay Fit.
Avoid foods with lots of sugar, caffeine, or alcohol. Sugar and caffeine may give you a brief moment of energy; but they would later bring about anxiety , tension, and internal problems. Alcohol is a depressant. Many people would drink alcohol to "forget their problems."
They're just aggravating their conditions in the process.
Exercising regularly is a vital depression buster because it allows your body to produce more endorphins than usual. Endorphins are sometimes called "the happy chemicals" because of their stress-reducing and happiness-inducing properties.
5) Get a Social Life.
No man is an island. Your circle of friends are there to give you moral support. Spending time and engaging in worthwhile activities with them
could give you a very satisfying feeling. Nothing feels better than having group support.
Insomnia is a feature of depression but the consequences brought about by this disorder may not be as ordinary as
it may seem. Of course people may have sleep problems and not have depression at all.
6) Wake up and go to bed at the same time everyday, even during the weekends. Some insomniacs tend to sleep at any time of the day to catch up on some sleep they lose
during the night. Now this is the biggest mistake you can make. It ruins your body clock and will only worsen your insomnia. If you can't sleep one night, get up the
usual time the next morning. You'll be sleeping soundly like a baby the next night.
7) Don't eat within 4 hours before you go to bed. If in case you went hungry, try some crackers or light snack. But don't indulge in an "eat-all-you-can"
feast right before bedtime. Your food won't be digested well, resulting in poor and uncomfortable sleep.
8) Don't drink caffeine or alcohol. Caffeine can obstruct your ability to sleep. Alcohol can make you drowsy, but it can wake you up in the middle of the night and bring you side effects that will hinder a continuous sleep process.
9) Relax and stay fit. Avoid having a stressful lifestyle. Exercise daily to release tension. Engage in breathing exercises to relax your body. Most important of all, don't carry your problems or emotional baggage to sleep with you.
Forget about it for the mean time. You can go back and solve your dilemma better the next day after a restful sleep.
10) Never force yourself to sleep. Trying your best to sleep requires some work. You don't want to work when you want to doze off.
Sleep comes best if you are in a relaxed and comfortable state. Just lie down, relax, and let the sleeping fairy cast its spell upon you.

Try to make yourself get interested in something. Pray, help someone. Go visit some old person in a Rest Home. Life has so many things and facets to explore. Try to find gratitude. I guess you may need medical help. I get depressed too! I get myself up and say. "You can't always get what you want." "But you get what you need." Mick Jagger sang that. My point is, life is not going to always be what you want it to be. But theres lots of good things in life. Hope you get better. There are people who don't' even have to know you to care about you. I do care and so do many others. Ignore a trashy statement by Simon COWARD. He should be ashamed of himself.

Everyone has moments of depression. It does not have to be a disorder. The best thing you can do is talk with your friends and try to do things that cheer you up. Sometimes these things just require a little proactive boost to your mental health.

Make an appointment with a doctor and see about talking to a professional and possibly getting some medication. Keep in mind that things will get better though. Keep a picture of your Mom, Dad, Sibling, or someone else who you love dearly and look at it whenever you feel sad. Think about how sad they would be if they knew how sad you were. Don't be alone right now. Talk to anybody. Even me if you want. I'm right here.

You need to talk to someone about the things that are bothering you. Try talking to a family member or friends. There is always someone out there to help you even if you think you are alone. You just need to reach out and be open to talking to new people. Try talking to a doctor, they could refer you to a counselor. You will get through it. You just have to keep in mind that everybody has their hardships. Everyone has something to get through to make them stronger. Keep your chin up and stay positive. Get help from a professional if you feel you need it.

Yes, you can be depressed at your age. 14 is a funky age anyways. I remember being around that age and the hormones and feelings, and thoughts and everything just seemed endless, and hopeless!! Depending on what kind of relationship you have with your Mom, or Dad, you should go and talk to them or one or the other. Then if that is no help to you, seek out a councillor. Do you have good guidance councillors at your school? If so, use one of them, or actually, if you have a favourite teacher, talk to them. Talk to whomever you feel comfortable with. If you find that NOTHING is helping, doesn't matter who you talk with, seek out medical help. They can refer you to a professional councillor who deals with this kind of stuff every single day. They get paid to help you deal with your problems. They give you suggestions to help yourself. etc. Everything that you say to them is confidential, unless you are planning to harm yourself or someone else.
Just remember that whatever you are feeling is normal, but sometimes young teens can't deal with the feelings as they are stronger or more than you CAN handle. Don't feel weak, or don't feel useless. Take pride in knowing you are trying to help you. Smile, even if you don't mean it, and pretty soon, they will start coming out naturally! I'll be praying for you....GOD BLESS YOU AND REMEMBER ALSO, HE LOVES YOU VERY MUCH. ASK HIM FOR HELP AND YOU WILL RECEIVE IT!

Be assured that it gets better first of all. Second, see someone about it, like a high school counselor, or even a regular therapist in your home town. Chances are that what you're going through is normal, but its always best to get second opinion. Also, don't discount the helpfulness of drugs. Granted they get alot of bad media, but there are things out there that help. Exercising regularly helps too.

Hey I'm 14 too, and I have a lot of friends who have gone through depressive stages. What you need to do is try to figure out where this depression is coming from. If you can't, then confide in someone you trust and love so they can support you. Just try to put a smile on your face, and know things will get better!

You need to get help for your depression. There is an artical I was reading in cosmo girl about how depression is very treatable and how you can get help. It will not go away on it's own because dression is a chemical imbalance. Yeah last year when I was 13 I had deprssion and didn't do anything about i until I finally told my mom because i was getting sick, that I needed to go to the doctor. A couple of pills is all it takes to make you feel better, if you truley have depression

First, really figure out what you are depressed about. Then, try to focus on the positives. I get depressed, and I have to really focus on the good things in life. I have to look around, and say, Wow, I am so blessed not to be like this person, (very sick, homeless, hungry)

You need to tell your family doctor. He can help you. There are plenty of medications out there like Wellbutrin and Zoloft that can also help. If you don't go for help, it may get out of control and lead to suicide. Depression is a serious problem. Good Luck!....)(

Tell people who care about you - parents, teachers, friends, friends parents, people at church...counselors - whomever. You don't have to go through this alone.
Also, 14 is a VERY rough age. What you're going through is most likely really normal. So don't be ashamed. The fact that you've reached out online is a GREAT first step. Just don't stop there. You'll be relieved to know that there are ways to overcome depression. You don't have to feel like this all the time.
Good job kiddo! I hope my kids are as resourceful as you are. Best of luck.
