See i'm eighteen years old. I have a boyfriend and we are getting really close with each other and everything. I'm worried when we are both in the mood for sex, it'll be for the first time ever. note this might be in a month or two or something. I don't know. We've been together for about a good 4 months. ^ _ ^ And I was just wandering what's the chance of getting pregnant if he uses a condom? I'm really worried. I don't want to come out pregnant . I'm eighteen.
oh and I don't want to let my parents know when I am having sex. I trust them but it's just awkward.

Hey, Condoms are 98.9% effective but birth control (the pill) is 99% effective. Always use a condom, and birth control could back it up. Remember only have sex if you are definately ready, you don't want to regret your 1st time! There is always a chance of pregnancy so be careful x Hope I've helped! |

Well, condoms are reportedly 94-97% effective WHEN USED PROPERLY. If you're going to use condoms, read the directions first. However, realize that this number doesn't mean that you should never worry. No form of birth control is 100% effective other than abstinence. You can still get pregnant using a condom, the pill, using both, etc. If you don't want to get pregnant, don't have sex. |

Ever thought of waiting on having sex? It'd save you a lot of stress - plus you know that your boyfriend loves you for more than your body and he's willing to be committed. Or at least wait around a bit longer. Remember - if you do than if you guys don't work out - he won't be your first. Someone more special will be. Anyways - that is not exactly answering your question but it does make the chance of getting pregnant zero, as well as having to keep up the secret infront of your parents. Plus you have STD's to worry about - I'd be more scared of that than a baby. |

Condoms are like 99% effective but even when you use them properly they still aren't perfect. Your chances of getting pregnant are 1 in a 100. As a parent of teens myself I understand what you mean. Sex is kind of an awkward subject because it has an element of risk and vulnerability to it. Of course as a parent you worry about a broken heart just as much as an unwanted pregnancy. You can't stop your children from growing up but you always want to protect them. |

Becoming sexually active is a HUGE step and you really have to be sure that that is something you're absolutely ready for. If you feel that you are and are so worried about getting pregnant then you might want to consider getting on birth control and yes having your boyfriend wear a condom every time even if you're on the pill will greatly diminish the chances of you getting pregnant. |

Condoms are very effective but not foolproof. Use a condom and one of the cream anti preg over the counter stuff. |

A condom is a very good method of birth control. I dont know a percentage but it is very high. Just make sure it is put on right and such. Dont poke any holes in it. |

percentages are low if used correctly, tell him to pull out just before he ejaculates. Enjoy! |

Well the chances are kinda slim. But yet there still is a chance. If you two are deeply in love with eachother, and you wanna show that, then when you both are ready. you should go for it. but take caution in what the consequences are. and first you should let your parents know if you are thinking about having sex with your boyfriend. just so they know, so you dont have to hide that from them. most parents want you to tell them when you are thinking about doing that with someone. but thats just my opinion (: hope i could help a little! |

Have you ever heard someone ever say use a condom? Condoms are designed to prevent you from getting pregnant. Just make sure its not old because then it might break which could potentially get you pregnant |
|

Well for one you could have him use a condom and go onto the pill.. |
|

Maybe use a condom and some other form of birth control. That would tend to reduce the chance even more. If the condom does not break you should be okay, just follow the instructions. |

Well the answer to that one is 'don't have sex'. I'm married and me and my wife never use a condom and we've been active for almost 2 years now and haven't slipped up yet. But if you're worried about getting pregnant just don't have sex, that'll solve that problem. |

BIRTH CONTROL. Get it asap. |

As long as you use the condom correctly, the odds are slim. You should be worried about STD's as well as getting pregnant. In fact, probably more so since there is a greater chance you'll get one of those than get pregnant. Sex with anyone with an STD means you'll get it. For you to get pregnant, you would have to be ovulating. |

Condoms are 94%. The pill is 99.4% effective if it is taken as directed. Foam (spermicide) is 98.7% effective. Pull out is 68% (I think) effective. IUD is 96% effective. |
|

I do not know the answer. |
maybe he isn't ready for sex yet. he is as scared as you are |

If you don't want to get pregnant, don't have sex. There is ALWAYS a chance of pregnancy... even with a condom. So if you don't want to take a chance on getting pregnant, then don't do it. |

Condoms are pretty effective, just dont use more than one at a time and make sure they arent expired. Remember that no method is 100 percent. Be careful |

Condoms are only 89% protection, and mishaps do happen. Try getting on birth control, thats 99% |
