If that's been such a problem for you, then why don't you just switch to maxi's?
Always Ultra Thin Maxi with wings is so thin, and comfortable.
Lots of women use that brand and they most women actually choose maxi's over tampons, and I happen to be one of them.

I don't think you can lose it but it will go pretty far up. If this should happen take these steps. Lay down on your back(best if done in bath tub), raise your legs up(like put them on the sides of the tub) and push out like your going to use it and stick your finger(s) in and pull it out. I have lost a few times. (forgot to pull the string out before putting it in)

yes, it can happen.....string or no string. In my teens it happened to me and it was horrible. Without going into gross details, let's just say the odor was worse than normal. I panicked and realized what had happened. (yes, I am extremely clean and all of that but I thought the last one was out and it wasn't). I put a leg up on top of the toilet, squatted and felt for it. I did get it eventually. It was pretty darn scary! ♥

yes if you forget and have sex or push it up with another tampon. Opps. Unless you go fishin or have a brave lover or friend retrieve it, you have to go to the ER and hav the doc snatch it out. I left mine in and forgot, had sex had no clue it was there till 28 days later a foul oder appeared the doc knew without even looking. She said it happens all the time. I've had 3 removed since but same day service I'm not good at fishin. A boyfriend got it for me once. They get stuck i cut the string (don't ask). GET IT OUT you will get an infection!

It's IMPOSSIBLE to lose a tampon inside of your vagina! Reach in and try to find the string and pull it out.

Like a lot of people already said you cannot lose it, but there is a chance of it getting stuck and when it does you might freak out and convince yourself that its just lost. Don't freak out! Take a deep breath, Relax, squat down and spread your legs wide, and then you are ready to reach in and pull it out carefully with your fingers!

Well, it's not really 'lost' but sometimes they can be hard to get a hold of or even to find.
Bear down and try to visualize pushing it down with your muscles. If that doesn't work try relaxing, perhaps in a reclining position and reach up and in until you find it.
DO NOT ignore it, however. After a while it will smell and can be dangerous to your health.
If you really can't find it. Call your OB/GYN and let them know what's going on. Don't be embarassed. You're not the first and you won't be the last.

no you cannot lose it. Your vagina is not a well. It is not that deep. Just lay on your back, spread your legs, insert your fingers in your vagina and pull it out. Next time make sure the string stays outside your vagina so u can easily pull it to remove the tampon.

You could if like the string broke or something, I would go to the doctor. It can't go to far though, your cervix will be in the way.

Okay, I have been there and although you can "lose" a tampon in your vagina, it cannot get past your cervix, so it can only go so far. I would either ask your partner to help you remove it (if you have one and he or she is willing to help) or see your gynecologist in order to have it removed. There is also some good info on the web on trying to remove it on your own, but it depends on how "lost" it is. I was not able to retrieve mine on my own. Do try to get it removed asap though because it can cause infection and even toxic shock syndrome. Good luck, I know it is an unpleasant situation!

It is very possible for tampons to get loged in the vagina. If possible try and retrieve it yourself (using your fingers). If you are certain you have lost one and cannot get it out, seek medical attention. If left untreated, the tampon can cause serious infections.

Yes, it can get lost in the vagina such as by getting caught at the back part of the cervix. When this occurs it requires a visit to the doctor to have them take it out so that no other problems could possibly occur.
Gynecologists see this kind of thing on a regular basis so they are not embarrassed by it.

Well, it's not really lost..you can push down with the same muscles you use for kegels and that will help ease it out. Or you can manually retrieve it (it is really not that deep as you might think..)
Sometimes if you have defecate, it might push down far enough for you to get it out.
Don't leave it up there for long, it increases your risk of serious infection.
As a last resort, visit your OB-Gyn.

You can't really lose it, per se...because there's only so far up that it can go. However, if it gets inside of you and the string falls off then your best bet it to go to the doctor and let him or her remove it for you so that you don't get an infection.

I'm not sure on what to tell you on the retrieval of it (other than going to the ER )...but in all cases, you are going to want to get it out even if it means an embarrassing trip to the doctors...if left in place, it can cause infection and possibly TSS (toxic shock syndrome) which is a systemic infection that can be fatal.
Have a blessed & Merry Christmas :-)
