Some people use the rhythm method (which is complicated & not very reliable), but even the go time for that method isn't during your period. The pill is the most reliable if you're going to have sex, but no guarantees. Besides, it's not natural & can have serious side effects on a woman's body. Your body cycle goes something like this: week 1 Your period week 2 New lining starts forming (the blood) week 3 Lining formed and egg released week 4 Lining prepares for cleanout So the likeliness of having a fertile egg during your period is incredibly low.
