First of all I am sorry for what happened to you...it must be so very emotional on so many levels. Please think over your decision before making one. I really believe that you will hurt your emotional well being even more if you decide to terminate this pregnancy. I know alot of women who are still trying to deal with the fact that they aborted a baby...they are now 30 years old and still have a difficult time resolving those emotional wounds. The rape was wrong and terrible and should not have happened but something good can come of this situation. You could be the vessel that God is using to bring a baby into the lives of people who are unable to have one of their own. Please consider it ... my sister is 27 and unable to give birth...it breaks her heart everyday. I know that there are many good people out there who would take this child in...love it, nurture it, and be grateful to you for giving them this gift. Please consider giving this child a chance.
Good Luck

Go to a nokill pregnancy counseling center and start arranging for the babies adoption now. You can give a childless couple something they have praying for and you will give your child life in the fullest.
Don't even try to connect to the baby, give it life and do not see it. The hospital can set it up this way and the counseling center will pay all your doctor and hospital bills. Make something wonderful blossom from a terrible event in your life.

It depends where you go, if one clinic wont look up a few more... I know there's a clinic in Tampa that will do them up to 24 weeks... but it's the only one in the area, the rest only do them up to 12 weeks.
But keep looking because there are places that will do it. Get on it right away as time is running out.
Good luck

I don't think anyone will do one that late. You're in your 2nd trimester of pregnancy. I would take care of yourself & give up the baby if you don't want it. Don't abuse alcohol, drugs, smoke, etc., just because you didn't want this pregnancy. There are plenty of people out there who would give anything to adopt that baby you're carrying.

yes it is possible but it will cause you alot more pain then it would have early on. you should go to a doctor and talk to them about it and what they think you should do. Just so you know what the healthiest thing for you is.

well no not really because abortionist say that they will not do an abortion after three months. Also i am so very sorry that you were raped but just try to think happy thoughts. If you do find some one like a doctor that will do the abortion then go for it but if you cant and you dont want the baby then there is always adoption. I dont believe in either but i dont judge others who do. good luck and again i am truely sorry for your pain...

They don't go by months they go by weeks..so you would need to find out how many weeks you are I think the cut off is 12-14 weeks but i'm not sure. Called Planned Parenthood and find out they do abortions there!!!

The answer depends on where you live. In most states you can't take the induction pills after 7 or 8 weeks gestation. That means 2 months. After that you have to have a partial-birth abortion which is basically removing the limbs of the fetus and pulling them out through the vaginal canal, like an operation inside of you. Usually those are only done up to the 4th month, I believe, but some places do them up through the 7th month... though not legally because the fetus is then viable (meaning if it were born prematurely it could survive outside the womb).
Abortion can be very traumatic, even if you want it and even if the resulting fetus is from rape. I would suggest speaking with your primary care physician or your OB/GYN or midwife about the abortion procedures, alternatives and any psychological counseling you may need (or want) after the abortion, should you choose to follow through with it. Adoption is a great alternative to abortion, for both mothers, babies, and potential adoptive parents... if you think you can handle it. :")
Best of luck with whatever you decide to do.

I'm sorry you were raped. I don't talk about it but I was raped too. I'm 48 yrs. old and i am just now coming to terms with having and abortions at 2 months. It was the worst thing I ever done in my life. I know I was raped but it wasn't the baby's fault. I think about my baby everyday. Be sure this is what you want and that you can live with it. You could always adopt it out to a good family. Are you getting any counseling? I didn't and wish I had. Did you turn the guy in? I didn't, wish I had because he raped again. I found out later that he had raped lots of women. Now he's in prison without prole. I hope I helped you, good luck.

Yes. Medically, there is no time limit. Legally, there may be. 4 months is between 17 and 18 weeks, and a fetus isn't viable until at lest 21 weeks. Legally, it depends on where you live. There are some states that do not allow abortions after 10-12 weeks, but you can find a clinic that will do the procedure. But the thing is that the further along you are the more the procedure will cost. And if you are trying to have an abortion at four month you will probably come out your pocket over $1000 (maybe a little less or more)
Since most doctors will not perform abortions after 12 weeks (3 months). (Black1975) and you are that far along, take it the rest of the way and consider adoption which is no cost to you.

I don't think so. But if you don't want the baby, why not give it up for adoption? There are a LOT of good people that want babies and can't have them for whatever reason.
Think about it! Besides, you might even decide to keep it yourself. Don't kill an innocent baby...please.

No. The baby is to far along. I am so sorry this happened to you. There are thousands of people looking for babies to adopt out there. If you don't intend to keep the child, put it up for adoption.

Not likely, though it depends on what US state you are in. Many states do not allow abortion past the 12th week (3rd month).

depends on the state and if doc is willing to perform. why not turn such a negative into a positive and have child. adoption would mean that you could give the child to a couple that can not have the gift of life otherwise.
I understand not wanting a child from rape, but that is not just the monster's child, it is also your flesh and blood. before doing anything go to doc and hear the heartbeat once. please consider adoption. there are so many people that would be affected positively if you chose this. and get counseling, lots of it for all the trauma you have been through.

You can get an abortion up to 24 weeks into the pregnancy, so YES, you can still abort. http://www.plannedparenthood.org/health-topics/abortion/abortion-procedures-4359.htm
I am sorry that you were raped, and I hope that you can deal with the emotional issues related to it easily. I know it's not easy. My best. EDIT: Also, realize that there are thousands of children in the system that were put up for adoption that will spend their life in foster care instead of being adopted, especially if they are minority colored, where they are nearly three times as likely to be exposed to physical, emotional, and sexual abuse. In my opinion, if that were my life, I'd rather my mom aborted....
To the rest of the posters....It's none of your business if she wants to abort. Keep your nose in your own uterus!

You most likely can. It depends on where you live and how far along you are.
"In all, 36 states prohibit abortions after a certain point in pregnancy. Of those, 23 ban abortions at viability; five ban it in the third trimester; and eight ban the procedure after 24 weeks."

yes you can.... Depending on where you live.
Abortion in the second trimester - from 13 to 24 weeks - is generally performed using a procedure called Dilation & Evacuation (D&E). The D&E procedure is different from a 1st trimester abortion in a number of ways.
Later abortion may require a 2 to 3 day process that includes preparations to gradually/slowly dilate or open the cervix before the actual abortion. Later abortion may also require a longer stay in the facility and additional medications

Yes, you can still have an abortion at 4 months (16 weeks).
There are many different procedures of abortion and the procedure that a woman has depends on how far she is into pregnancy.
Medical abortions or surgical abortions are often used during the first trimester.
Because you are in your second trimester you don't have a choice between medical or surgical abortions. At this point, you can only have a surgical abortion. These are often the three types of procedures performed during the second trimester.
* Dilation & Curettage (D & C): a surgical abortion procedure used to terminate a pregnancy between 13 to 15 weeks gestation. It is also referred to as suction curettage or vacuum aspiration.
* Dilation & Evacuation (D & E): a surgical abortion procedure used to terminate a pregnancy between 15 to 21 weeks gestation.
* Induction Abortion: a rarely performed surgical procedure where salt water, Urea, or potassium Chloride is injected into the amniotic sac; prostaglandins are inserted into the vagina and pitocin is injected intravenously.
In your case, you might have a Dilation and Evacuation procedure performed. If you want more information on what this procedure is like I highly suggest you check out this website so that you know what you're getting yourself into.

It includes information about what will happen before, during, and after the surgery.
