Yes! Take one swig of Aloe Juice, & you will be cured! It can be purchased at the local vitamin store. It is all natural so you will not have side effects like the other meds, & this actually works.

Try drinking a glass of milk and eating a piece of bread. It would help soak up any acid in your stomach.
If it's a chronic problem you can talk to your doctor. There can be some serious complications from chronic heartburn.
My father had cancer in his esophogus caused by acid reflux.

Tums, that is what I use. If you don't have that, you can try a little milk or ice cream, those do the trick as well. One of the things you should be doing is writing down what you eat, and what causes the issues. I have found that I can't eat chocolate, some cookies, depending on the ingredients. There are lots of little things that can set you off, so figure out what it is, and eliminate that from your diet. I went on a bland diet for a couple months, and after that I was a lot better.
Good luck.

see your doctor, but it will help if you eat small meals throughout the day instead of the three big meals. Avoid caffeine also.

Baking Soda...
1 teaspoon in about 8 oz of water. I was suffereing from reflux for a while. Started taking this before bed or when needed...made a HUGE difference. Sometimes I'd have to take a second dose for the really severe problems. Try it though. Worked better than the over the counters that I had.

Sounds like you have an ulcer...you really should get this checked. Ulcers can become dangerous if they start to bleed, so see your Doctor soon! Also do not drink milk...this can make it worse, avoid all foods and drinks that contain acid such as coffee and soda's tomatoes and so forth.

For heartburn drink a teaspoon of vinegar. It is beacause you dont have enough acid in your stomach to digest food properly, thus gasses come back up and burn you.Antacids do just what they say, they get rid of all the acid then your body says whoa!,there's no acid, quick, lets produce some. Then your heartburn goes away.Try it!

Water and Mustard..... Take a spoon of mustard and eat it...wait 2 minutes then take a glass of cold water, drink, hold your head back and swallow. I know it soulds crazy, but it works! My great granny taught me this trick when I was 10 and I still use it today. It also works for indigestion and gas!

Patients with GERD or severe heartburn may instinctively try to swallow when they feel the symptoms of GERD, and they may get immediate relief at times. This is partially because of the neutralizing effect of saliva (which contains bicarbonate, a buffer) on stomach acid. Some people also get relief from milk, or products such as Tums or other antacids. All of these contain buffers in the form of bicarbonate, which leads to neutralization of acid. Baking soda contains the same buffer.
Certainly baking soda and any of the previously mentioned neutralizing agents can be used to treat GERD. These medications are very safe to use in the recommended doses. However, stronger therapy is often needed because GERD is a chronic disorder and the symptoms tend to recur very frequently, often many times per day.
you can get more information on treating heartburn at http://health.ivillage.com/digestion/diindigest/0,,6ftt,00.html
good luck!

Life-style modifications:
Avoid alcoholic beverages
Avoid caffeinated beverages and chocolate
Avoid specific foods that produce your symptoms (individually determined)
Weight loss -- often helps overweight individuals
Do not lie down within 3 hours of eating.
Sleep with block or wedge under mattress slanted down (head raised to keep acid from flowing up)
Medications:
Antacids (Maalox) helps in milder cases (may need every four hours)
H2 receptor blockers, e.g., Zantac, Tagamet
Proton pump inhibitors (Prilosec) -- the strongest medicine for suppressing acid
Reglan (metochlopramide) -- makes food move forward down gastrointestinal tract. Benefits some, especially diabetics.
