While very few people are actually allergic to latex, where using the material can induce anaphylactic shock, many have sensitivities to it. When exposure is either repeated or prolonged, the reactions to the offending substance can intensify. Symptoms of a latex allergy can include itching, dryness, a rash, and shortness of breath, although welts and eczema have also been reported.
However, if a woman experiences these symptoms and suspects that she may have a latex allergy, she should double check to be sure that she isn't allergic to her spermicide or lubricant instead. This can be done by experimenting with different condom or lubricant brands. She may also try a more direct approach by wearing a latex glove for a while to see if she develops any of the same signs of irritation on her hand.
Options
Women with an allergy shouldn't sweat it, since finding alternatives to latex condoms is a breeze. In addition to the latex standard, both natural skin and polyurethane condoms are also readily available. Be forewarned, though - if STD and HIV transmission is a concern, skin condoms should be avoided, since their pores are large enough to allow viruses and bacteria through.
Another option is to double up on protection - using a latex and a skin condom together in order to NIX the disease transmission issue. Depending on which partner is allergic, the latex condom may either be worn as the first or second layer. Of course, there is concern that using two condoms together may provide even less protection than one flying solo, since the condoms have a much greater tendency to slip or tear because of friction. This game plan really ought to be weighed carefully and used cautiously. more..............

Yeah, if you have a latex allergy, they have sheepskin that you can use.
I'm sure there's more info on that on an "Ask Doctor Laura" Type of website, but I'm positive that there are many different materials that you can use.

You may be allergic/ sensitive to the latex in the condoms. Another option would be that you are reacting to ingredients in the lubrication. If you are using lubricated condoms they may contain Nonoxynol 9 (N-9) which is a chemical additive that would cause the sensation you describe.
Discuss the reaction with your doctor. There are tests that can be done to see if you are latex sensitive. If this is the case, use latex free condoms. If you are reacting to the lubricant, buy non- lubricated condoms and a separate lubricant.

Anything is possible I would try a few more brands maybe dry ones and add your own lubricant that's more Gentle.I had the same problem as you and I finally found a brand called 4x they come in a capsule but rather expensive. I would talk to your gyno first they can give you better advise.Make sure your hubby has clean hands and trimmed fingernails before he touches your vagina he may be irritating you first. The doctor told me to urinate after having sex and wash myself off real good. I even have problems with band-aids to this day you just might be extra sensitive. Good luck wish you well.

Yes very possible, in fact I am. It's the latex condoms that I am allergic to. It's a possibility that you have as well developed this allergy as well. There are vinyl condoms that are located right next to the latex condoms. Try using one of them next time.

It sounds like you have an allergy to latex (the common polymer used to make condoms). Certain companies do make special condoms for people with latex allergies. Lamb skin condoms are an alternative to latex condoms. Check with your local pharmacy, or intimate shop.

You are not alone. Try sheepskin condoms. They are not made of latex, which is probably what you are allergic to. Sheepskin condoms aren't as popular as latex, so you'll have to goto a store with a large pharmacy/hygiene department with a big condom inventory.

It is certainly possible that your are allergic to condoms. You might also be overly sensitive to the lubricant or spermicide found on most condoms these days. You could try getting unlubricated condoms and using your own brand of lubricant. If that doesn't work, you could also try the non-latex variety.

You could be reacting to the lube on the condom or the latex.
First id switch brands to find out if its the lube. If the burning continues, youre allergic to latex. Several brands make latex-free condoms with polyurethane as a substitute.

You could be allergic to the latex, to the spermicide, etc. First try non-spermicidal condoms. Then if that fails, since it is your husband, try using an alternative type of birth control.

He might be using latex condoms and latex rates high on sensitivity and allergic reactions. There are LOTS of brands out there that are not Latex! I think, not sure, Trojans are not latex. Actually, I looked up a website for you to read all about that and they tell about non latex condoms and about sensitivity to latex condoms, etc. I hope this helps a lot. I'm pretty sure that's what it is.

P.S> Patients can also be allergic to a dentist wearing latex gloves or a gyno. using latex gloves, etc. This is NOT uncommon.

You probably have either a latex allergy or have a bad reaction to a spermicide lubricant in the condom.
Try unlubricated condoms first (pick up some astroglide). If it still bothers you, try polyurethane condoms.

Sure you can get the lambskin or PVC. You no doubt have a sensitivity to latex. Lots of folks do. PVC and lambskin both have some benefits to the guy as well... feels a little better than latex. The PVC takes a little getting used to, as it is more of a looser fit, but it actually can make things a bit more interesting. Also you might switch to the female condom which is also PVC
