if you're not eating properly you will be irregular, as the body needs nourishment especially when it's still growing, it may materialise that you have some difficulty conceiving in later life

for the first while periods will not be regular. but since you have had your for three years it should start to get regular (might still fluxuate a few days- but you shouldn't go months without it and then have it again)
maybe talk to your doctor and see if something is wrong. brithcontrol can help to regulate your period, but there can also be side affects to taking BC (such as weight gain/loss, it can make it harder to get pragnet after you go off BC..)

I don't know about the sudden change... I usually only skip when I change what I'm eating. I don't know what 7 stone is in pounds, but if you're too thin, that might contribute. Sometimes, people just have irregular periods. If the timing bothers you, talk to you doc about going on the pill just to regulate them.

Yea,get checked out.May need birth control.(just a hormone). It will regulate you.Learn to be calm. Not being regular is pretty normal at a young age.But it can cause difficulties as you grow up.Sounds like your hormones/body is messed up.

I think goin to a OBGYN is your best bet. I had irregulare period when I was younger then it stopped for a whole 5 months (I was happy ... no crimson tide). But I went to a Dr and turns out my body can't deal with stress and my hormones were crazy off. They gave me stuff to get my hormones in balance and the pill to regulate my period. So go see the GP or a OBGYN...Best of luck

well you are still young .. in any case you could see your doctor and ask to take the pill it should help with having some regularity in your period
the irregular cycle may just be an hormonal disbalance ..
mothers should be silent if they can't help their children ...
she should bring you to the doc instead of scaring you
tell her I say so... ! don't worry it will be fine

Right first things first calm down ! You sound like you have some sort of hormone imbalance which is treatable. Go to your doctor and have a word with them.
You are very tiny have you suddenly lost a lot of weight for no reason you could have a Thyroid problem or I have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome which can affect you in many ways one being irregular and strange periods.
Dont get your self all worried take the next available appointment at the Doctors and go prepared with whats wrong with you and all your symptoms be clear about these so that they get the right diagnosis. They may give you blood tests or send you to a specialist for a thorough check up. And its all good dont worry you can still have children with irregular periods !! I have a son and mine up until I had him were extremely irregular.

I wouldn't worry too much cos at your age they can be very erratic. I wouldn't even say your weight is an issue (i'm 5 ft and 7 stone - which is not underweight).
See your doc for some reassurance tho. And remember, worrying can actually stop your periods.

I completely understand what you are going thru. My periods did the same thing around 16. You need to talk to your mum about going on the pill to regulate your period. As far as having children.......don't worry until the doctor tells you to worry. I worried for about 10 years, and have 3 great kids, and 4 grandkids. Have you always weighed around 100 pounds? How tall are you? If you are under 5'5 then the weight is not a problem. But everyone is right.....see your doctor.

I think you shouldn't worry, and don't for goodness sake don't go looking up medical conditions on the internet, it will only make you worry more. Go and see your GP if you are really worried. However I had irregular periods for years when I was a teenager, and I now have two beautiful children. Your weight seems normal for your height by the way.

No don't worry!! I very much doubt you have less chance of having kids because of irregular periods!! It is only if your periods stop altogether that you risk not having children!! Your periods have probably become irregular due to stress - are you finding school work stressful? Are you get worried about exams nearing? These could be possible reasons for periods not being regular!
To be on the safe side and if you are that concerned go to ypour GP to check you are fine!! I'm pretty certain you'll be fine!! Although you started your period at 13 it is not until puberty is over that you will find your periods being more regular. You are probably having a lot of hormonal changes going on in your body still - another reason why your period may be irregular!!

Many young girls have irregular periods and it doesnt stop them conceiving! If you are worried talk to your G.P, but the fact that you are slightly underweight may have a bearing,as there is a connection between bodyweight and periods.

the exact same thing happened to me, i went to the gynocologist and she told me that it happens to almost every girl, and always around the age of 16. she just put me on a low dose birth control to help regulate my period, and it worked. it also eliminates acne and cramps! yay!

I wouldn't worry. I started my periods when i was 13, i'm 21 now and they're only just starting to settle down and form some kind of monthly pattern! Having chronically irregular periods can make it a little more difficult to conceive simply because eggs are released irratically- but it doesn't make you infertile! Please don't give in to the pressure to go on the pill for no reason, its not a cure for anything, it won't sort your periods out, it will just give you fake ones. Taking the pill in the long term will screw you up in one way or another. Messing with your hormones is just not advisable. See your doctor if still worried about it, particularly if you think you're under weight. but again i wouldn't worry about that. A lot of girls i know didn't fill out till they were around 17/18. Hope that helps xx

I think you should weigh a bit more, I am 5ft 5 and I think I weighed 8 stone and was considered stick thin? So eat a bit more, but go and see the doc. They can put you on the pill to start your cycle going properly. You could be having irregular periods for all sorts of reasons assuming you are not starving yourself? Like if you do a lot of sports I think that affects your periods and your ability to conceive, but that said that marathon runner just had a baby!! At 16 I wouldn't be worrying about having kids, that should be at least 10 years away!!! But go and see the doc, get some reassurance and make sure you are eating healthy.

Unfortunately, your symptoms can really mean a number of things. Your best bet is to speak with a doctor and see if you can regulate your period. Sometimes something as simple as taking a birth control pill can regulate your period.

Dont listen to that moma old wives tale.
Your periods will get better as you get older.
My older sisters periods used to be like that and she had
10 children, so dont worry.
The best thing is to dont worry and let periods come on naturally.

It is really common for women to be irregular until they are in their early 20's (sometimes later).
I would not be too concerned but would mention it next time you visit your Dr.
A very close friend of mine didn't have her period for over a year (when she was 18 and quite underweight) and conceived her first child within 2 months of trying.

You need to see a doctor! You may have PCOD, hypo or hyperthyroidism or a lot of other things. This is treatable with medication, but if left untreated, it is not so good. It is not to late and you most likely can still have kids. But please see you doctor ASAP!
