Stop shaving that close !! Use an electric mustache trimmer on it's shortest setting and you will avoid ALL that !!! No cuts, no bleeding, no itching when the hair starts growing back in. It's just as effective, and looks nice, neat, and clean. You just won't be completely hairless in your southern hemisphere.

Ok, there is stuff at the drug store that will help it. You put it on right after you shave.
Also, I've heard using baby oil right after is helpful.

Leave it alone to calm down! maybe put something that will sooth-It, like savlon or talcum powder. when it's calmed down gently exfoliate to avoid getting ingrowing hairs, and then next time don't shave down there! get waxed at a salon, or use a hair-removal cream. good luck!

Make sure you take a hot shower and use a nice scrub on that area to Loosen up any ingrown hairs. Cut the hair really close and use a gel shaving cream- it works better. One for mens tough beards work best since the pubic hair is tough. Then shave as normal. You can also put some baby powder on the area afterwards.
I have done this before and it worked out fine. Though no matter what you do it will itch like crazy afterwards.

If you want to shave "down there", you should use Nair. You won't have to use a razor and it won't hurt. If you don't want to use it, then don't shave. It is very dangerous if you shave with a razor in that particular spot. It will make you feel itchy and if you want to itch "down there" in public, it's embarrassment time. Sometimes, it will hurt when it rubs against your underwear. So, use Nair or don't shave at all.

Anytime you shave "down there" it will start itching -- either from what you are talking about or when the hair starts growing back.....you can also get a serious infection from it so be careful. I've never done it but I would suggest a wax before a shave.

You will laugh at the name of this product, but it is called "coochie" and there is a cream and a spray for afterwords. They both work great. A friend who is a stripper told me about it and I started using it. I really like it.
You can get it at beauty supply stores and stores like Priscilla's.
Hope it helps.

It's a personal choice as to whether you shave down below or not. But I wouldn't recommend you use the same shaving cream you use for your legs as it irritates the skin. Best not to use anything.

May the blessings of Adonis and Aphrodite be upon you, but ---
Take a lesson from us men.
1) Prepare the medium to be shaved: This isn't leg hair, it's thick and highly populated. Wash completely with soap to remove body oils so hot water can penetrate the fiber. Like spaghetti, it's easier to cut when wet.
2) Use a sharp, safe, blade.
3) Post shave: hit with cold water to close the pores, then hit with an aftershave to kill the bacteria that cause skin rash. I use rubbing alcohol on my face, because it's cheap and I don't like the perfumed stuff. It works. My face, of course, is not kept in a moist environment. So dry out your territory completely before covering it up.
4) Heed the words of the song: "Shaving cream, be nice and clean, shave every day and you'll always feel keen."
And bless you.

Take a hot shower before shaving...to soften up the hair and prepare the skin, which is more sensitive in that spot.
Try using a different cream or gel than the one you use on your legs....because the skin is more sensitive in that spot.
I am a guy and I don't shave, I just trim with a scissor. I used to shave though...I know what you're going through.

Treat it like you would your face. Use a very mild toner (I like Nuetregina No Alcohol toner,) brushing it on gently with a cotton pad. Then apply a facial moisturizer (I use Dove Deep Moisture.) Do this regularly and it should help with the irritation.
Also, best shaving cream I've found - Skintamite Baby Soft or for dry Skin.

Before you shave, exfoliate. Use a washcloth and just scrub the skin for a minute to Loosen any hairs that have settled. Shave with a new razor, don't use one in that area if it's been used more than 3 times. I like to use Aveeno sensitive skin shave gel. After you shave, pat yourself dry, don't rub, and use a bikini cream like Bikini Zone. I started shaving at 13 and it took about 10 years to get it down!

NOOOOO. Use Nair creme hair remover. Clip any hair close to the skin and then apply liberally. After 4 minutes, shower off the hair. I like to use a handful of sugar scrub on the area. Works good for legs and underarms, too. Your skin will be smooth and soft. You can use this Nair often with great results. Stop using a razor and shave cream. Then you end up with awful stubble.

I think your pubic hair is much coarser than your leg and underarm hair. You need to use something else (other than shaving cream) either to prepare the hair differently, or to be applied afterwards to prevent ingrown hairs. There's nair, to avoid shaving altogether, "bikini zone" which is a whole line of products that have to do with shaving in that area, waxing (stays smoother longer). They sell all of these near the razors and shaving cream section at stores.
The redness and bumpiness are probably ingrown hairs, so you should probably exfoliate with a scrub or cloth to prevent the skin from growing over the new hairs (making you itch) after you shave or even before you shave. Apply a lotion after you shave as well.

Don't be alarmed. I know I'm a guy, and this may seem awkward coming from me, but men get the same reaction. You just shaved too close. It just gets better with time. DON'T scratch. That makes it worse. It will get better with time. But if it itches so bad that you can't stand it, just use baby powder or talcum powder. I hope you feel better =]

If you use baby powder right afterwards it is sooo much better. also, if you leave a thumb stamp of pubes...it wont itch as bad or get stuck to your clothing....but I use the baby powder right away on my arm pits also and it helps the itching and the bumps...try it:)
Good Luck!

Are you shaving up, like how you shave your legs? You CANT do this when shaving your bikini area, it will get very irritated. You have to shave with the grain, not against it. Next time shave downwards and it wont be as irritated.

"Down there" hair is tougher than on your legs. You need to soak it for a while to soften the follicles. Use Bikini Zone (CVS, Walgreens, etc) and apply after you've shaven. It minimizes redness and gets rid of bumps. Also, use a different shave gel like for sensitive skin

I learned this from a stripper and it has helped me so much. Buy yourself a cheap stick of clear, unscented deoderant.. When your done shaving and out of the shower, run the deoderant over where you just shaved, it prevents irritation and ingrown hairs. Also... make sure to exfoliate the area before you shave.
