Accidentally put another tampon in without taking out the last one...?
I have no idea how I did this as normally I can't really even wear supers. I was in a hurry so I guess I blame that. Anyway, I'm wondering if I'm gonna be okay now? I don...

Anyway, I'm wondering if I'm gonna be okay now? I don't remember putting the first one in but if I have to guess I'd say it was in there for about 12 hours or so. :/
Wow. That seems bad. The absorbency for both was regular. Should I be worried?

Thanks everybody. I got them both out immediately. I didn't realize there were two in there until I went to get them out...you can imagine my surprise.

No...no worries... I've heard that people sometimes do it on purpose (not that you SHOULD do it on purpose). But if you noticed, just take them out and start over. No big. |

you should pay more attention (even if the cramps were painful @ the time) |

YES! Take them both out immediately, you could get TSS!! Put on a pad, and take a break from tampons until your next cycle! |

not really, but if you begin to get a high fever then go to the doctor |

take them both out if you haven't and wear a pad for the next several hours. i'd also try to drink a lot of water and pee a lot so you can get rid of the bacteria that have been in there. if you start to feel sick at all, go to the doctor immediately. tss can be very dangerous. |

I did that once, too! I was so embarrassed when I figured out what I had done. Don't worry, you will probably be just fine. I actually have friends who use two tampons on heavy days...crazy, huh?! It is better to have extra protection than forgetting to put a tampon in at all.....yikes! |

Take them both out now, and dont insert a new one for a while. You should be fine, as long as you dont have an unexplainable fever/vomiting/other strange symptoms, which could mean TSS. TSS is very rare though, so I'm sure you'll be fine. |

Uhh yes, have you heard of Toxic shock syndrome, it's explained on the tampon box, your body is designed to reject foreign objects. Get to a doctor immediately. |

No. As long as you removed both of them you'll be fine. Just be careful next time. |

dont be worried tss is onlt caused from being allergic to the germ streptococcal. if u have taken it out, you will be fine. |

If you feel fine, then you probably are. But if you have any symptoms, etc, then go see someone. |

If you start feeling nauseous or feverish then you should see a doctor asap. Otherwise I think you'll be ok. TSS is rare. |

not if they're both out and you don't have a fever...I'd be more careful next time... |

No toxic shock syndrome sets in very fast. If you are okay now, not feverish or anything, then no worries. |

you should be fine....TSS is very rare....just make sure to remove both and be more careful....you will know if you start feeling sick or excessively tired to seek help. |

Yes get them out ASAP... But if your feeling fine..... i wouldnt worry about it but U still need to get them out eitherway! |

no you don't have to worry because you don't do it regularly. just be careful because of toxic shock. 12 hours is much too long for one tampon you need to change more frequently. |

Well, it isn't great. I would take them out...ASAP, and probably not wear them untill your next cycle. I'm sure you are aware of Toxic Shock Syndrome, but don't worry, im sure you are far from having that. Maybe the next time youre at your doctors, just mention it and see what he says, but I'm sure you'll be okay. |

Ouch::):):) You can get very ill if you accidentally leave a tampon in more than 6 hours.. Do what it takes to get out.. If you've already done so Good.If you have any signs of cramp, temperature or feeling poorly..SEE A DOCTOR and get on antiobitics.... Smart question... Nurse Andrea RN |

I once had a friend that left one in for a week, she said it was so gross and stinky. yuck huh. I think we have all accidentally put in two or forgot about one for a smidge. Use pads for this cycle and maybe the next. If you don't need super tampons don't use them. They increase your chances of toxic shock syndrome. |

Oh my goodness. Take them both out. If you can't, go see a doctor. If you already have, you should be all right. |

12 HOURS? omg. that can't be good. i would call a doctor or go to the hospital. take both out first. |

Well, as long as they are both out now it should be ok. If you are worried the best thing would be to call your gyn and ask....You could always go in for a quick exam to set your mind at ease. You need to be really careful with tampons as they can cause Toxic Shock Syndrome. You didn't ask, but it would be much healthier for your body to use pads most of the time. And you wouldn't ever have to worry about the above problem. Best wishes. |

some of these girls are trying to freak you out. tss is a VERY rare disease, and you only left it in for 12 hours. i kno it's more than you're supposed to, but only by 4 hours. i've accidentally fallen asleep with one in and i had it in for a total of 19 hours. which is disgusting, lolz. but i'm perfextly fine. just if u feel like u have a fever or headache, go to the er. there's also a sheet inside the tampon box with info about tss. read it for more info. u'll be fine. :] trust me. |
