Your headache is probably a normal pms symptom for you, so I wouldn't worry, alot of women get headaches along with their periods.
As far as a brown color, that is completely normal, when blood is "old" and lacks oxygen, it turns brown.

Always talk to your Mom, especially about menstruation. You sound like sensible girl, talk to her and if she thinks it's necessary she will take you to the doctor.
Good Luck

Hey, dont panic, yes this sounds like your first period to me.
Its normal for your first fewe periods to be just a dark brown discharge, maybe next month or the next few periods you have will be red blood, depending on how light or heavy you will have your periods.
Its a good idea to tell your mum, as she can help you. Plus any mum wants to know when their daughter starts their periods.
Congrats :-)
p.s. hot water bottles or paracetomal will help the pain.
Take care xx

If this is the first time something like this happened then it is your first period if you feel like talking to your mom go ahead maybe she will take you to get medicine and some other products and she'll probably want to talk with you. I recommend midol I have used it for many years and it works great. The discharge is completely normal and remember stock up for next month!

Having a period sluffs off all the crud that has built up in your system. The first one or ones might be okay being brownish (just a dull red, not really brown)
Usually you don't have cramps for the first few. The fact that you do concerns me a bit. I would mention it to your mum.
An Aspirin or Aspirin-type pill should take the pain away both in your head as well as your stomach. A heating pad also helps lessen cramps.
The head ache may be due to high blood pressure or stress. Check your blood pressure. Sometimes pharmacies have blood pressure machines you can use for free.
Head aches are not normally a part of having a period.
Take care!

Yes! the color will usually be brown. It doesn't mean you are unhealthy. It is one of the burdens of being a woman. You could let you mother know, there is nothing to be ashamed of.

hi, I remember the first time I got my period. I was a little afraid to tell my mom, but ya know what? Your mom has been through it and who else to talk to but her. Your mom will be able to support you and help you through this and speak to you on this. I would tell her and let her know, you will feel better later on. on another note, I think you should let her know just in case it is not your period, that way you can get checked out by the doctor, better to be safe than sorry. I honestly think it is your period though, that is what it sounds like to me. Good luck and hope you feel better.

I didn't have my first til I was 14, it was very light (the flow-I wish it still was) and yes very light brown. As I got older and my cycle became heavier it was more consistent in color with what we see on t.v. when someone gets shot and is bleeding to death. I'd say my attempt at humor is weak and your period is very normal.

Nothing to worry about. It's gonna be light brown at first, And over time when it really has it's color, the last few days of your cycle will be light brown also!

Yeah that's your period. My first period was like that too. And at the end of my periods, even now, I start to get brown.
I wouldn't guarantee that it's normal, just because I'm not a doctor. But I think it's pretty normal. I'd still maybe ask your mom about it.

Don;t worry honey.. this is normal I'm afraid to say.. it's just something women have to go through.
You might be embarrassed by it.. but tell your mum, she will actually be so pleased.. it's a right of passage for women.. it shows you are becoming a woman.
Don't be scared.. there are also things your mum can give you to help make you feel a bit better while it's going on.

Dear baby
don't worry you are becomming a woman now. so do let your mom know as she will try to help you more than your freinds. MUMs are high5. well when I had my first I was 14 and when I had them I didnt notice anything untill I was 17. I know it sounds wierd that my Periods started when I was 14 - 17 I didn't notice any thing well they were broninsh and very low. I couldn't tell my mum because there was contact with her I lived with my grand parents/aunts/uncles but never got a word out they thought I wouldn't get my periods. but when I became 18 thats when the were real peiods. so there wasn't my mum if she was there she could have had me checked to the doctor. so silence sometimes can kill. Honestly let your mum know. Good luck and don't worry.

yes this is your first period, congrats!
Enjoy it, soon the novelty will wear off and you will dread the monthly period. When I was 12 I couldnt wait to start, and when I finally did I was estatic. A few months later they werent fun anymore and now I hate them. On the pill to stop them! Dont have them anymore, only 4 times a year.

Dont worry, it is common for the color to range from brown to red. Since this is your first period, it may flow lighter and have more of a brownish color. It also is common for you to have cramps and headaches are a by product of hormone changes. You may want to consider taking Mydol, it is a lifesaver, it takes care of the cramps and headaches. It may be a while before your next period, but expect the flow to get heavier, and the color will most likely begin to change throughout your period going from brownish to red and back to brownish and last between 5 and 7 days. If you are worried about something it is always a good idea to talk to your mom if you have a close relationship, she can help you to understand what is going on with your body. And if you are not close yet, it may bring you closer talking about things that are of a more personal matter. Good luck!
