I'm a great fan of Lush products (http://www.lush.co.uk) and I use their Smitten hand cream for general use. They also do Helping Hands which is heavier duty.

Burt's bees do a few.. the farmers friend one is good for very dry chapped hands. Napier's Calendula cream is nice too. Dr Hauschka's rose cream is lovely.. it's a very rich face cream but perfect on hands and smells lovely. My favourite is Avocado moisture cream by simply skincare.. it's so nourishing and smells gorgeous too!

astral.. it comes in a blue tub and you can get it from most supermarkets or chemists... I know it is good for mens hands becauese my dad is an engineer, and is always covered in cuts, and has rough "sandpaper" hands.
To really soften them up, put on a generous amount and then put on a pair of gloves.. this will let the cream soak in, try doing this overnight.. in the morning, your hands will be softer than ever... do this once a week or so, and youl notice the difference!!!

I know its not a hand cream, more a body Lotion, but the best cream i have found(and believe me i have tried many)to work best for dry Skin is Lavender bedtime baby lotion. It starts working really fast and makes your skin feel amazing. If it doesn't work straight away then keep on using for a while and you will see the effects are really worth the wait.Normal baby lotion by Johnson's isn't the same though it has to be Johnson's Lavender bedtime baby lotion.Try it out and I'm sure you will see a difference soon.

Second the Eucerin, get it at Costco, much cheaper there. If price is no object, L'Occitane has a great handcream - their Shea Butter one. It's soooo nice!!!

Neutrogena do a good one, the Norwegian Formula one, (before they used to put on the packaing it's used by fishermen).
Green People also do a hand cream, Help at Hand, which is a rich, non-greasy cream that provides a light barrier against moisture loss and smells beautifully of Rose Geranium and Lavender. (from Health shops)

Hemp - from the body shop. Thick and excellent for very dry Skin. You can get tubes for hand cream or tubs for body or feet. It's excellent, I use it and it really helps.

Neutrogena is very heavy duty, it's heavy and gluggy (hope you know what I mean by that), however, I found that it rubs off easily onto clothing, bed sheets and loses it's effect. There is a Nivea hand cream called SOS and I have found that whilst a bit lighter, it really does work and my hands felt softer much more quickly with this one.

I do a lot in the workshop and have a dry sensitive skin for a man. I have tried lots, but recently have used Nivea Night Hand Renewal Cream and during the day their Intensive Balm. These have given the best results ever.
