When to start putting cream on cold sores?

I have been told to start putting cream on my cold sores as soon as I start feeling the itch in my lip. However, sometimes I feel my lip itching and a cold sore does not develop at all, so I am wonder...

hottlips1986	No wait until you see the cold sore then apply purfume the creams are crap and purfume gets rid of it straight away Hope this helps

brandy	Put on Zovirax cream as soon as you feel you may be getting a coldsore. It should stop it developing and certainly won't do any harm other than dry the skin a bit. Better safe than sorry if you ignore the warning signs.
