Facts to know about ingredients that can age your skin

To make a wise decision, we need to know the facts. As your independent skin care consultant I am here to give you the facts so you can make your own educated decision and choose products for your skin that are good for you and effective. The skin is a living organ, as well as the largest functioning organ of the body that protects us by preventing bacteria, germs and pollutants from entering the blood stream. Everything we put on our skin is absorbed and goes through every vital organ. Our skin breathes out waste and toxins and takes in oxygen, moisture and nutrients. Most ingredients used in American skin care formulations contain potentially harmful ingredients, and at the very least these ingredients can cause allergic reactions. How can this happen? The FDA does not regulate what can be put into skin care products. All the cosmetic company has to do is list the ingredient and they can use it. Arbonne’s Swiss formulated (manufactured in the U.S.) products are for the educated label reading consumer and are pure, safe and beneficial.

Ingredients to Avoid:

Mineral Oil

Mineral Oil is the #1 most used ingredient in American skin care. Mineral Oil & all petroleum-based ingredients are products of black crude oil. Baby oil is only refined 7 times; Vaseline is refined even less than that. Mineral Oil’s molecules are too large to penetrate the pores, so it is not absorbed into the skin. It just sits on the surface of the skin creating a barrier that traps in toxins, dirt & bacteria, clogs the pores and causes breakouts and good nutrients can’t get into deeper layers. Due to its cheap cost ($1.00/gallon compared to $100.00/gallon for essential oils) most skin care lines use Mineral Oil as a moisturizer and filler. Arbonne does not use Mineral Oil in any of its products.

Our bodies are 70% water so we need a water-based moisturizer to penetrate down through the pores to deeper layers of skin. Remember for skin care products to be effective, they must be absorbed into your system… Arbonne products Absorb!

lanolin

lanolin is an oily excretion of sheep and is a common lubrication ingredient in skin formulas. Extracted from the wool, lanolin has been indicated as a cause of allergic skin reactions is sensitive people. It is also one of the most highly allergic ingredients according to the FDA. Arbonne does not use lanolin.

Collagen

An animal product, collagen is added to formulas as a Moisturizing agent. Collagen is just like Mineral Oil - the molecules are too big to be absorbed and can therefore clog pores, blocking the skin’s own natural breathing and secretion process and absorption of other nutrients. The only way to get collagen is by injections or by using products that have ingredients that work together to promote the production of your own natural collagen. Arbonne products are formulated to do this. The internal production of collagen will smooth out facial lines, wrinkles and scars by replenishing the natural support layer beneath your skin.

Bar Soap

Do you like to clean soap scum in the shower? Bar soap users have the same soap scum on their body & face. They will need to use twice as much moisturizer for it to penetrate through the film.

Chemical Dyes & Fragrances

Arbonne never uses any artificial fragrances or chemical dyes. These can cause allergic reactions and photosensitivity in some people. Arbonne only puts products with a zero rating for allergic reaction on the market although the FDA will allow products with a rating of up to a three on the market.

SD 40 Alcohol

Strips the skins natural acid mantle, exposing the pores to bacteria & germs. This also makes the skin oilier because it tricks your skin into thinking it is dry, so it produces more oil. Arbonne does not use this.

Free Radicals & Antioxidants

Free radical or “oxidative” damage is what makes your skin age. They have also been shown to be responsible for the initiation of many diseases, including heart disease and cancer. Antioxidants help protect against free radical damage. Antioxidants in the form of nutritional supplements as well as topical application give you the ammunition to fight off the aging process. All of Arbonne’s moisturizers contain the most effective antioxidants to combat the visible signs of premature aging.

I personally use arbonne and at the pratice I work at we advise out patients with eczema to use this product. I would really advise you to try this product. I can give you some free samples it you would like. email me at givemedeals2005@hotmail.com. I, personally, have extremly dry Skin and this has done nothing but good things for me.

This should help soothe the condition if done regularly. When running a bath, place an old stocking leg filled with porridge oats under the running tap. Then leave the "oat parcel" in the bath while bathing. This has proved to be quite effective. Hope it helps

The ******* KinG!!
Avoid milk and oral antibiotics. Humidity is the worst thing to happen to eczema. If she wears sweaters or anything that causes heat and humidity, it's going to aggravate it. Keep her skin bare (unless it's private areas) when possible and in dry situations and it should be fine. Apply diplorene, which is a prescription when she does have an outbreak.

* Occurs naturally in essential oils

Description: Those of us with skin that gives us severe problems sometimes (or all of the time) could spend our lives dreaming of a beautiful, clear, trouble free epidermis. We try many beauty creams and pharmaceuticals, you name it, we've used it, but still our bothersome skin won't behave. Give Dream Cream a try; we get loads of letters about how well it works (see below). Why? Because it is made with every calming plant we can get our hands on: oats have been used on the skin as far back as Celtic times, softening rose water, calming Lavender and Chamomile, olive oil to moisturise and loads more (see above). The scent sometimes takes a bit of getting used to as it's not your average floral thing, more of a herbal approach. Get some. There's no point in having a dream unless you're going to have a decent crack at making it come true

Reviews
'I have suffered from eczema for as long as I can remember and after using a number of steroid creams and moisturisers, was introduced to your products by a friend. At first I was wary but tried a number of your products. Almost all of them have been excellent on my skin but best of all is Dream Cream. Please can you tell me if you will always make this or if it will go off the shelves to be replaced by another product. It is such a relief to find something so good after searching for about 11 years that it would be awful if I was to discover that it was going to be discontinued at any point. Also the Alkmaar soap is fantastic! Well done in producing such fantastic products. Thanks' Sarah Blackburn

'I work as a jeweller and my hands live a very hard life, plus the fact I suffer with eczema. Well that was before I started using Dream Cream.' Sakura

"My current mosturiser, this one is really rich but works really well. The Lavender scent is a little over powering sometimes though, but is a good scent for before bed."..

"I have used this for over 2years now, but mostly on my face, it's fantastic if, like me, you have very sensitive skin, especially if you are allergic to lanolin. this leaves my skin feeling lovely and fresh and very smooth, brilliant for all those who have given up on ever finding the perfect sensitive skin moisturiser :D :D please don't ever stop making this or my face will crumble away!!!!"..

"Very soothing afterbath/shower cream. Perfect for use with "Dreamtime" bath melt and "dream wash" body smoothy.
The finishing touch. Get loads for your money. I always have this subtly fragranced cream in.
If you don't have the time of money for the others get this! I warn you though - its addictivly nice!"..

try getting her to cut down on dairy products as this is said to aggravate the problem and I'm guessing she is already under the care of a dermatologist if not get her to go down to her GP and asked to be referred to one as they can do tests to see if her eczema is due to something linked to her diet.

YEP! i have it too! I've tried EVERYTHING! but the only thing that clears it up is the tanning bed! Believe it or not it helps so much. I dont go all the time because of all the hype about skin cancer, but during the winter it helps so much!
Her doctor could also give her steriods to get it under control. She wouldnt want to take them all the time because of all the side effects.
her best bet is the tanning bed.

YES - Eczema is no longer a great tragic disease with no hope, it is actually very easy to deal with. Getting to the root cause is the answer. Spending the rest of her life plastering herself with chemicals, or taking weird and wonderful self-proclaiming drugs should not be an option.

All that is wrong with her is her immune response has gone a little bonkers. This is due to a group of complex carbohydrates missing, which results in a breakdown in biological data transfer in her body. Address that, and you solve the problem.

First things she MUST do is avoid Aspartame like the proverbial plague, and quit anything containing Caffeine. She should drink at least 2 litres of bottled still mineral water per day (anyone who tells you that bottled water is just a hype, has no idea what they are talking about).

Finally, take care.

Sam's mom
I have had my share of bad eczema, and I found it really helped when my partner (now Husband) helped apply my cream on the areas I could not reach. Not only is this practically useful, but it made me feel he didn't care about my 'problem' skin and was happy to help me clear it up. Some even say you can use it along with massage to 'get the mood' going .. it's not a bad thing, and I must say it's good to know there are still people who realise it's not an infectious disease and are willing to be positive and not negative about it. People with eczema often feel self conscious - especially if it's on the face - but remember, there are many worse things you could have!

Well done to you and good luck with the massage!!
