I Have Terrible Acne?
I have terrible acne.

I was my face all the time, I use proactive, clean and clear and store brand products.

I even went to a dermatologists and got 100$ acne removal thing and it didn't work.

I don't know what to do, I look terrible, and I think I'm getting that disease where you pick at your face becuase I'm a very restless person and always have to do something with my hands, and now I'm picking at myself.

Does anyone know what to do?

I'm tired of people telling me: "You'd be so pretty if you'd just fix your acne problem, get proactive."

I've tried everything I can think of and nothing works!

PLEASE HELP!

hmm, go to a good dermatologist, and tell him that it ahsnt gone awa y, u might just need surgery to get it all removed, but it will EVENTUALLY go away, acne is just oil under the skin, i would A. EAT MORE VEGETABLES
B. DONT PICK AT URE FACE, MORE OIL JUST GETS ON TO URE FACE WHEN U PICK AT IT
C.DONT STRESS ABOUT IT, STRESS CAUSES ACNE

Don't pick, it will result in irritation and by picking, you spread the acne bacteria around the area this inducing more acne. For the time being, because of the irritation on your face, you need to let it calm down by Gentle cleansing using a mild cleanser such as Cetaphil. Treat the area with Benzoyl Peroxide with low concentration.

Stop visiting those dermatologists that earn money, go to a good one and ask for medication. Antibiotics, contraceptives and Accutane are the medications that actually do work. If you have severe acne like those big ones, get on Accutane, other stuff will not work.

If proactive doesnt work try a powerful cream that really works. But u have to be patient and follow a rigid schedule as instructed and u should see improvement in 2 or so weeks. The Cream is from the Vitamin A family called Tretenoin or "Retin-A" in conjunction with Retinol -- these are very good for chronic stubborn conditions. Initial dryness, redness, chapping and peeling may occur but should be smooth sailing after that. I dont know if u can get it over the counter or has to be prescribed by doctor. In combination with the creams get from your Doctor oral prescription for antibiotic pills - tetracyline, penicilin etc these help fight off pus-forming bacteria which is the cause of pimples.
Good Luck

I know you wanted a quick fix, but if you are young you may just need to grow out of it. Try to change your diet, worked for my sister in law, dairy was causing allot of her skin problems.

I spent hundreds on all the prescriptions the dermatologist gave me (Differin, Accutane, various antibiotics)...and then they said that it was most likely due to stress/hormones and that it'd be hard to get rid of....so, I feel your pain!

They then recommended an over the counter brand, and it's been the best I've ever used. I use Cetaphil facial cleanser in the shower (am) followed with the Cetaphil moisturizer SPF 15 (avoiding my nose, it's too oily!)...I notice that if i don't use the moisturizer, I break out more. Before bed, I wash with Cetaphil Antibacterial bar soap. I can always tell if i've been slacking off on the routine because I break out again!

I've also heard great things about the Aveeno line, but haven't personally tried it. Unfortunately, it really does seem to be a very individual trial and error process...but good luck!

I've had a similar problem with my skin. I discovered a Mouthwash (yes hear me out, I said Mouthwash) that has a special healing agent in it. I'm not talking Listerine or anything like that - which is almost pure alcohol. The Mouthwash I am talking about is called Dr. Tichenor's. It costs about $5 for the stuff and it has the healing agent Arnica in it. It also has Peppermint Oil in it so it smells/tastes decent. You can find this stuff at pretty much any Walgreens/Wal-Mart stores. I hope this helps you as it has helped me! (It also helps heal cuts/bruises in 2-3 days!) Good luck with your problem!! I hope that it goes away o.o.

I used to have really bad acne too. Those acne products don't work trust me! Just wash your face 2-3 times a day with Ivy soap and use an Astringent with salylic (sp?) acid.

Accutane works for a lot of people. It's really harsh on the skin and hair though.

I've found that Neutrogena face wipes work to keep my acne under control. They're easy to use because you don't have to do a lot of steps. Just wipe at night and the morning and you're good to go.

Try to stop touching your face because that only makes it worse. If you use make-up, buy new and make sure not to use it with your fingers. Pour some on the back of a clean hand. Then try disposable sponges or washable brushes to apply the makeup.

Don't let this ruin your life. You are beautiful for the person you are.

Hi

Ok first of all, do not pick at your face, that's only making it worse. You may have acne because of stress, hormones, diet, or genetics, or maybe a combination of the above. I read that a deficiency of Vitamin A, Chromium and Zinc can cause acne, so maybe you should take some good multi-vitamins. You should also drink plenty of water, and wash your face with something that is designed for treating acne and something with a lot of natural ingredients, like this:

http://www.amazon.com/Acne-Soap-Natural-Relief-Treat/dp/B000F6RFLG/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=hpc&qid=1200194983&sr=1-3

Do not overwash your face though, because that may make it worse. Wash your face maybe once or twice a day. You should also try to clean your face using Witch Hazel. You should try to find products that have a lot of natural ingredients and vitamins in them. Try to eat a lot of fruits and vegetables, and cut back on any greasy foods.

SOLUTION
=========

What the skin needs is a product that clears pores and kills bacteria, thus preventing hair follicles from clogging and turning into acne. This is what you should be looking for if you want to get rid of those ugly acne.

Before trying any treatment, I suggest you read this informational source that listed the most effective acne treatments available:

http://www.17acnetreatments.com

P.S. I also know someone who used to suffer from severe acne for 14 YEARS and finally got rid of it completely. She's sharing her story at her site:

Maybe you could learn from her inspirational story

Sometimes nothing seems to work .. you might need to use something stronger, like Accutane. I'd recommend it if the acne removal you got from the dermatologist didn't work.

Normally what I do when i get zits, I don't pick at them but I pop them.. you need to pop it until clear liquid comes out.. After that you need to make sure you clean your face with warm water and whatever you use for your skin.. the question is.. are you using the stuff that is right for your skin.. like do you have oily skin or do you have dry Skin.. most acne comes from oily skin so you want to make sure you dry you skin up a little.. just make sure you clean your face twice or once a day.. so dont pick at your face and make sure you don't touch your face so much because that is how it spreads.... If this doesn't work then I am sorry.. so good luck..

Try another dermatologist. There are new laser treatments that can get rid of acne. You have to keep your hands off it. You are making it worse.

If your acne isn't improving, then go back to your dermatologist. He/she can prescribe something else. For some, it's trial and error. What works for one may not work for another.

In the meantime, stop picking at them. It will only spread the bacteria around and cause more breakouts. Picking at your skin can also cause scarring. Putting Neosporin on them can help to a certain degree. It will help heal them, but won't prevent future breakouts.

Drink plenty of water a day. Not sugary drinks. Just plain old water. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables and avoid junk food. Also take a multi-vitamin.

Hang in there! I know how much it sucks, but you will get rid of them.

What you can do is eat healthier, go back to your dermatologist and let them check if there is anything in your hormones that causes extra acne(and the dermatologist has to give you something to control your problem). Don't get too stressed, sometimes that causes acne too. Keep taking care of your skin and hopefully everything will be better. Good luck.
