It is kind of difficult, but making sure your feet stay dry, wear sandals in the shower, and when possible wear sandals to air out your feet. Another thing: clean your shower really well and don't walk around the house barefoot-your feet may heal but if fungal spores are still around you may get re-infected. Of course you might want to ask your doctor, there may be some topical salves like aloe that may help, but expert adivce form an MD is always beneficial.

You could try putting honey on your feet and letting it stay on for a while. It might take a while to work though. Honey works as an antibiotic by dehydrating bacteria, so I'm not sure if it will work on a fungal infection.

TAKE YOUR SHOES OFF FOR ABOUT TWO WEEKS (NO SHOES EVER) AND LET YOUR FEET DRY OUT. IF YOU ABSOLUELY NEED TO USE SHOES(SOMETHING ABOUT A JOB) PUT TALCUM POWDER (NOT BABY POWDER) IN YOUR SOCKS, AND ALL OVER YOUR FEET.
THE WHOLE IDEA IS THAT FUNGUS GROWS IN A MOIST ENVIRONMENT, AND THE Talc KEEPS EM DRY. NO MOISTURE, NO MORE athletes Foot.

Firstly are you showering or bathing at least once a day?
If yes then establish if it really is athletes Foot.

List your signs and symptoms then ask yourself:

Since noticing these symtoms have I started using a new brand of soap, shampoo or tile cleaner in the shower?
Make sure that you rinse your feet properly before getting dressed.

If yes, figure out what you were using before and go back to that. Just before bed smear petroleum jelly on your feet and in between your toes and put a thick pair of socks on.
the symptoms should disappear in about a month. but hey Cracked and pealing skin in between your toes isn't life threatening.

As said before pee. It`s not very nice but I think the ammonia helps kill the infection. Keep your feet as dry as possible and Talc them.Keep them sparkly clean and dry them thoroughly. If it does persist you will have to use a medicated Talc.

You have to stop wearing shoes for about a month, and wash them 3 times a day. Whenever you wash your hands you should wash your feet. Try to use your feet like hands also

The person with the answer of soaking them in vinegar is correct. I used a small spray bottle from Wal-Mart and put about a 1/4 c of vinegar in there with water the same and just sprayed my feet when I got out of the tub and allowed them to dry before bed and the next day, i sprayed a small coat inside my shoes and baby the problem is now someone elses! Because its no longer mine! Keep your bottle handy and spritz when you are out of the shower or what have you and then your shoes also. If you are able to spray them with a pretty good coat, like where they will dry and not harm them, do so. They will smell brand new!

sometimes wearing powders will worsen the problem. depending on the kind, your feet can't breathe and it suffocates the fungus which is perfect environment to grow fungus,. Hot sweaty and dark..... think about it... It would certainly have to be a anti fungus or bacterial powder for feet, but vinegar works the BEST! i have tried it!

Keep your feet clean and dry.

Dry between your toes after swimming or bathing.

Wear leather shoes or sandals that allow your feet to breathe.

When indoors, wear socks without shoes.

Wear cotton socks to absorb sweat. Change your socks twice a day. (White socks do not prevent athlete's foot, as some people believe.)

Use talcum or antifungal powder on your feet.

Allow your shoes to air for at least 24 hours before you wear them again.

Wear shower sandals in public pools and showers.
If you have athlete's foot, put your socks on before your underwear, and dry your groin area before your feet after bathing.

My father used to use Bleach (diluted) and that seemed to take care of the problem. I figure if bleach can kill mildew, it ought to take care of athelete's foot!

If you touch it, make sure you WASH your hands... and go get some Fast Acting Tinactin or Blue Star Ointment. Apply as directed and to reduce getting it in the future, always wash your feet, dry between your toes and wear clean socks...

If you use public showers, make sure you wear shower shoes!

There are several ways you can attack the problem but there are no sure way to stop it unless your hygiene isn't that great.

1. Wash your feet very well, get in between those toes, and if you have heard of using a brush to wash in between your finger nails, the same can be applied to toes and toe nails. This will help brush away those debris that are lying under your toe nails and in betwen your toes that causes germ accumulation.

2. After washing, make sure to dry off your feet and also in between toes and toe nails. Make sure to wear a clean gear to protect your freshly washed feet.

3. Rub in some alcohol (the higher the concentration, the better). Pat dry with towel. Use blow dryer, the one you use to dry your hair to completely dry off your feet.

4. Wetness of feet can still occur, for this use any regular anti-perspirant, the same that you use for your underarm, but be sure to label it for "feet only" to avoid transferring the bacteria from your feet to your underarm. Then use your blow dryer one more time to totally dry off your feet before you put on your socks.

5. If possible, change your socks every 6 to 8 hours or at least twice daily. Invest on a second pair of shoes. Wearing the same shoes over and over again does not let your shoes to ventilate the fumes that's been sitting there. It needs to air out. If sun is out, it is advisable to put your shoes under the sun to kill bacteria.

6. Do not walk barefooted. Always wear a gear to protect your feet from possible germ contamination.

7. Lastly, treat your feet for a foot spa, buying a $30 equipment to massage your feet will relax your feet and will alliviate the stress it carry on a daily basis.

Hope these help.

Get a bucket or a small tub large enough to fit both of your feet in. put enough water in to cover both feet. Then add regular bleach. Just a couple of cap fulls per gallon of water.
soak your feet every day after work or school. The bleach will disinfect your feet, killing the fungus. Be sure to dry your feet well and change your socks during the day if your feet get sweaty.
