It is infested with disease. If you have the clap or a yeast infection is can smell awfull. Kepp that baby clean, shave off the hair, and go see a doctor if you think you have a disease. The sperm will not make it smell like a dead fish.

a fishy smelling vagina could be due to many things. It amazes me just how little people know. #1. you could have a bacterial imbalance #2. YES! it can be from your BFs semen.. the smell is in combination of your vaginal secretion, secretion that is so acidic that it will kill the majority of the semen, which CAN stay in your vagina for up to 3 days. a simple warm water and vinegar solution douche after unprotected sex should help in the smell #3. it can be Chlamydia (be sure to get to your appt!) #4. Douching can cause it to.. it removes the good bacteria needed for the PH balance of your Vagina, if you remove it... you have nothing protecting you from harmful bacteria... finally #5. Yeast infection... could be any of those reasons

Please go see a doctor to get treated. If left untreated you could become sterile and not be able to have kids.

sperm/ejaculate does have an odor but it doesn't smell fishy or linger in you.
my uneducated guess is that the chlamydia is making you smell fishy. yeah. that's what i've heard. if not chlamydia, then it's another std or infection.

you may just have a Bac. infection not a std...you need to see your GYN for Metro-jelly or buy it from Walgreen, CVS, etc. the smell will not wash away...it is a common problem but once treated it will go away. If you Douch and the smell is still there then thats whats wrong with you but if you are having a discharge then you really need to rush to the GYN or Health department. METO-Jell will kill the Bac. infection thats living the the walls.

Nope not from the sperm. You have the "clap"! You're bf will have to be treated as well. Keep your appt. You'll need some pills to get rid of it.

Well I'd wait to see if you do have chlamydia. How long ago was it that your boyfriend and you had unprotected sex? I suppose it COULD make the smell. Other than that. If it has been a while since you had unprotected sex, and you are clear of STDs talk to you gyno about it.

the fishy smell is due to infection, and if you have chlamydia, your boyfriend gave it to you, and guess what, HE got it from SOMEONE ELSE. Good thing you are seeing the doctor for treatment, but you may want to reconsider your relationship.

sperm will not STAY in you for a long time. like the good old saying goes....
"what goes up must come down"
it comes back out, and regular cleaning should take care of any smell it would leave behind. i dont think its the sperm.
you could also have a yeast or other vaginal infection. wait it out for the test.

Suppose it's possible.
But do you wash everyday (dont meen that horribly btw) possibly morning and night that could help.
If your on a heavy period that can do it, not changing often enough.
I dunno just trying to help :-)

clamydia is probably the reason. it is a sexually transmitted disease which means either you or you beau are cheating.
you could also have a female balance problem which is why many women end up with yeast infections or the other.
look into flora and fauna women's hygiene, you will learn alot about how our bodies are made.
if you have a sour smell you have less flora which makes your body produce more acid. if you have less flora you produce more yeast.

i think the most likely reasons are...
- you have an infection
- you dont wash often enough after sex (not being rude, just might be a possibility)
- he has some sort of infection.
however gross, my ex boyfriend had some sort of problem where even after he washed his penis still smelt pretty bad, which he didnt even seem to notice. it definitely made me smell worse after we had sex! always best to check with doctors...

if it smells fishy then more than likely you have a bacterial infection like chlamydia or something else, see a doctor and your bf could have given it to you without having any signs or symptoms himself so he needs to see a doc too.

Do not douche. Get tested first and find out for sure what's causing the smell could very well be chlamydia.

go to the doctor and get tested. Make sure you tell your gyn that you have an odor down there. It may be something else but I highly doubt it.

That is very possible. If you have chlamydia, then it definitely has an effect on the smell. some women vagina has a smell and some don't. It just really depends. I hope you don't have chlamydia though. I will be praying for you.

the fishy smell is an indication that you may have bacterial vaginitis. The best thing is to go to your gynae who will give you the correct antibiotic. Its very improbable that you have chlamydia and it's definetly not the fact that he came inside you ... the semen from that day is long gone !

Generally a fishy smell is a sign of an STD. If I were you I'd get checked for other diseases as well as chlamydia. The sperm shouldn't still be in your vagina.

Wow...some of these answers are horrible.
A fishy smell could be a couple of things which can be anything from a simple infection to a STD.
A "fishy" smell, which is usually worse after sex, is a telltale sign of BV (bacterial vaginosis). BV is NOT a STD, but simply an imbalance of the "good" bacteria and the "bad" bacteria which are both naturally found in the vagina. BV is easily treated and cured with antibiotics. Metronidazole (brand name is Flagyl) is usually prescribed. BV is the MOST common infection in women of childbearing age.
Trichomoniasis, which IS a STD also has a very foul smell and can cause a frothy, yellow-green vaginal discharge.
Also, douching is VERY bad. Please do NOT do this. The normal acidity of the vagina keeps the amount of bacteria down and douching can change this delicate balance. This may make a woman more prone to vaginal infections. Plus, douching can spread existing vaginal infections up into the uterus, fallopian tubes, and ovaries.
Whatever it is, it sounds like you need to see the doctor and get it treated. A doctor can properly diagnose you and offer/provide treatment. Good luck to you!
