I have a girl friend. Before 8 months she got tested for HIV it was negative.she became my friend before 40 days.in these 40 days i hade sex with her 3 times.everytime i used double(2) condoms.last time when i had sex it was 3rd day of her periods.i did not know about that. Before intercorse i put only one condom, and during that i put 2nd condom too.And when i finished i saw there was little blood on my condom and upper portion of my penis on skin.condom were never damaged.then I put off condom and wash my penis with water and soap.next day i feel little pain in my penis.after 2 days i went to doctor he took my urine sample and found 5 - 10% puss cells.he told me to use CIFRAN tablets for 5 days.now its little better.but i am afriad before 40 days is she had relation with someone else.So in my case what %age chances are there for me to get infected with HIV.she seems healthy and and get tested 8 months ago.she is not a prositute. plz help me any doctor.i m very upset.

Good job being responsible wearing condoms! Don't use two though- they are tested for their prevention when one is worn, not two and it may break. If you're really concerned go back to the doctor and get HIV tested. You'll need to do it again in six months or so but at least it will give you peace of mind. |

If you are telling us the truth about using condom during sexual intercourse with your girlfriend, then you did not get the infection from her. You got it from someone else. When you get infected, it takes time for the bacteria or virus to grow in your body and time for you to feel it (at least five days). You say that you got blood from her vagina on your penis and felt pain in your penis the next day, either you fondled her vagina sometime back then touched your penis, you got drunk and forgot to use condom on her, condom broke during sexual intercourse with her or you got the infection from someone else entirely. And by the way, you don’t have to be a prostitute to get HIV. Getting HIV is like getting pregnant you only need one shot at it at the right time. You could also be a virgin all your life then contract HIV on your first sexual encounter. Just go get tested for HIV. Just knowing your chances is not going to put your mind at ease. |

I really think you're 100% fine. It is more difficult for a woman to transmit to a man than a man to a woman. Plus you need an opening for any blood to get an infection. having it on the upper portion of the penis doesn't really provide a way to get into the blood stream. The pain and irritation is from 2 condoms. Relax sweetie. You're smart to take precautions and you sound fine. |

First, I would like to say thats its good you are using condoms, and that its wonderful that she was tested for diseases. However, it isnt safe to use more than one condom! It doesnt lessen your chances of catching anything from your partner. The added friction due to the use of two condoms can actually cause the BOTH to break MUCH easier, so I hope you'll use good judgement before using more than one at a time again. Secondly... just because he found pus cells doesnt mean you have HIV. She could have had a bacterial infection (which doesnt have to be sexually transmitted) and she may have given it to you. Its good that you went to the doctor but he should have given you a diagnosis before putting you on any pills. If you're still nervous about having HIV, then talk to the girl, and go in again and get tested. I hope everything works out well for you. Best of luck. |

doubling up on condoms is actually a bad idea, it makes them weaker and more likely to tear. This unfortunately is one of the risks of having sex, if you're going to be active you need to know that things like this are a part of it especially if you're not in a committed relationship. |

OK there are a few things that need to be said...first good job on using condoms regularly often two....1) Having her period does not make the risk any higher than having sex with her at any other time...HIV/AIDS can be transmitted through each sexual act regardless of blood. 2) HIV enters your body through breaks in you skin, or into your mouth, or urethra (opening in your pen*s). If you took off the condom washed the blood off with soap and water immediately and didn't have any open sores in this area you are less likely to be infected. The virus is very fragile outside the human body. 3) Do you have any reason to believe that she was infected in the 8 months after her negative test??? Did she tell you she had unsafe sex?? I don't understand what you are saying with the 40 days...unless there is a real reason for you to believe she is positive now (IV drug use, multiple sex partners without protection) she is probably still negative.. And finally 5-10% puss cells in your urine is not specific for anything other than a urinary Tract infection/contamination of the lab product/ another STD chlamydia or gonorrhea etc.... HIV lives inside different cells in your body and probably wouldn't produce the leukocytes in your urine. BOTTOM LINE>>>>>if you are worried GET TESTED..its easy and available. |
