You can use a condom if you are performing oral on him and they also have dental dams which will protect him if he performs oral on you--both are available free or very low cost at planned parenthood

Hi!
The only SURE way not to get a disease from oral sex is not to have oral sex... After all, condoms can break.
And there are many diseases you can get... Herpes, Gential Warts, Aids, etc... and you can even get things that are not considered an STD, like Thrush (Candida)... which is pretty much like a yeast infection. It is possible to spread Thrush from the vagina to the mouth... or from the vagina to the penis to the mouth.
Sorry...
However, if you and your partner get checked out at the doctors and he/she clears you both as disease free... then go have fun. If it still concerns you, then use a condom. It is better than nothing.
Best Wishes...
T.

you can get an std, many different ones. I would say the best way to be safe is for both of you to get tested before you do anything including sex. Good luck.

Of course, abstinance is the only fool-proof method of ensuring freedom from STD. Barring that notion, however, you must realize one certain fact: When a person performs any sex act with another, you are ACTUALLY by proxy having sex with all those who have had sex with your partner before you met him/her. By that I mean, STD's can be cumulative and you are the lucky one who may be next in line to contract the disease.
Most STD's that can be passed in the usual manner can certainly be passed as well by oral sex. ANY exchange of bodily fluids, even swapping spit...and you had well better know the background of your beloved. If not, you will sooner or later wish you were a little smarter.

Give oral sex by using a condom (for oral on males) or dental dams (on females) but nothing is 100% in prevention. It will cut the chances though. Also, never do it when the person is having a flare up, wait til they are in a "remission"

Yes you can get a disease that way (or the other two ways). Condoms are the only way to prevent.

Yes. Either abstain or use a condom. Those are the only ways you can guarantee that you'll be safe.

YES...you can 100% get a disease from oral sex. Herpes, HIV and many others. Of course the best way is to not do it. But if you are going to do it then use a condom. I know it sounds silly and Im sure your BF wont want to do it, but who cares? It is your health. Don't believe him when he says he's clean. Condoms don't really taste all that well, but there are flavored ones. Also, if he is going to perform oral on you...he also needs to protect himself and you. Even if you are a virgin, you could get something from his mouth. He can you a dental dam (glorified saran wrap). It's basically saran wrap that he puts over your vagina, but it is usually made out of latex. Sounds silly but it works and it is safe. Don't do it because you feel like "well ive already done it before, so i might as well do it again" If you don't know enough about STDs to know that you can get one from oral...maybe you should wait. Also, if you need condoms or dental dams..go to the health department. Its confidential.
