i seriously doubt you caught HIV. however, i suggest you see your doctor, because you sound really paranoid. you mainly catch HIV from dirty needles or unprotected sex and since you have had neither i bet the itching is simply because the wound is a little irritated. put some antiseptic on. please see your doctor.

I have OCD and one of my phobias was being infected with HIV even though I had done nothing that would be considered risky. I can't tell you how much medication helped me. I personally take an older OCD drug called Anafranil but there are others that work too. Ask your doctor about getting on medication in addition to the counseling. It has made my life 500% better. I can think like a "normal" person now even though I hate that word. I know how miserable the panic attacks can be. Hugs and best wishes.

now i don't know what it looks like but my only guess other than HIV would be merrca or some other type of staff infection which i'm not trying to add to your worries but that is also some serious stuff do you play sports or other activities were you sweat around others and if so did you play with open wound. easy for me to say but worrying only makes it worse be a wear but not scarred. and good luck.

You obviously have phobias and recognize the fact. So why would you jump to the conclusion this is HIV? Cuts will itch when they are trying to heal, as the skin dries and the scab forms. This is nothing to worry about. Find something to occupy your time till your next counseling session. You need to stop stressing about stuff that is nothing.

There is no way to be sure from you description... It could be an infected wound. The cut could have been from something you nicked as you were moving something or it could have been from you just rubbing on something. You are a virgin so that helps. I am very glad to hear you are saving yourself for marriage. I really admire that. I wish I could hear about more people doing the same instead of sharing intimacies with other people. Go see a doctor for your problem. I guarantee you are fine... Apply some rubbing alcohol, and don't be afraid! Good luck!

Don't worry, it's probably nothing that bad!
I frequently end up wondering where the hell numerous bruises and cuts have come from, and usually there is no answer. They just happen.
As for an itching cut, it might be infected. Look to see if it's red around the edges. Don't worry - your leg won't fall off, it simply means it'll take a bit longer to heal than normal, maybe one or two days. Wipe it with an antiseptic wipe - you can get them from most chemists etc. You might also want to cover it with a plaster to stop fluff/dirt getting into it. Scrubbing it with a loofah probably didn't help too much as they're surprisingly sharp - you might have cut it slightly more. Also try not to itch it, as this can make it worse too.
If you're still really worried, go see a doctor. They might be able to give you a HIV test, though I think it's highly unlikely it's that bad.
Good luck with your counselling! Hope you feel better soon :)

Chill. Do you remember anyone having their hand up your dress who could have cut you without you knowing it at the time? Come on. You're freakin' for no reason. Do you have a pet? A dog or cat that may have scratched you while playing? Razor cut? Clothing catch you as you slid under steering wheel? You'll be fine. You do not have HIV. But...maybe it's leprosy!

I can not put this any more bluntly.....it is not HIV! It does not happen that way! Your cut is either infected or you have a very active imagination. Put some anti-biotic ointment on it and bandage it. Quit stressing out about it, and ask your doctor to consider treating you for your panic attacks.

Pass it on...

First of all, the cut may be from when YOU scratched it subconsciously, and now the cut itches because it's healing (that happens commonly). No body could have cut you without your knowledge...even if you had been sleeping, it would have woken you up.
It's not HIV.

Keep with the therapy. It will work.
The odds of your cut being "HIV infected" are really zero. You haven't had sexual contact, don't do drugs, probably didn't have a blood transfusion with tainted blood, or any other risk factor for HIV.
Symptoms of HIV don't include itchy cuts.
Stop worrying and start enjoying life. It's really okay out in the world. People have been around for millions of years, and we get by. We have strong immune systems and robust constitutions. We're survivors. And so are you.

more than likely, you were cut by something that you have a slight allergy to. I get that way when I'm scratched by a cat. If it bothers too much, try getting some benedryl for allergies and see if that helps. Also make sure you put a little triple Antibiotic ointment on it to make sure you don't have an infection starting.
Keep in mind that a cut will also itch when it starts healing.

See a doctor. I know it will be hard because of your OCD (assuming you don't like germs) but if you're worried, it'll put your mind at rest. I doubt it's serious, though. Good Luck xxxx

Holy cow, man, chill out. You don't get HIV from an infected cut. It is normal for a healing cut to itch. Don't put stuff on it and for Heaven's sake don't "scrub" it. Let it heal.
About all that other stuff -- consider that your body has a remarkable ability to heal and to resist infection. It is entirely an ordinary thing to have the occasional ache, sniffle, or itch. Get out of the house and your paranoia will decrease. Hiding out alone is probably the worst thing for you to do. Oh -- and quit watching those X-Files reruns.

Hi, I am giving you a slap in the face over the internet. ()SLAP!) Get ahold of yourself ! You DO NOT have HIV, unless you have unprotected sex, use infected needles, have a bad blood transfussion. It is almost impossible get HIV from a scratch. Sometimes we get nicks cuts and scratches without knowing where they come from. It could come from your clothes, a chair, getting out of the bed. HIV dies once it comes into contact with air. So to get it is hard unless sharing body fluids. Blood or Semen. So take a deep breath and CALM DOWN!!!!!!! You will be ok. Put some hydocortisone on it and a band aid and let it be. :)))
