water and C02 combine, will generate a mild acid, H2c03.
H20 + c02 = H2c03 = H + Hco3
it will get dissolved in water, and increase the acid.
in medical term, it is caued respiratory acidosis. however, that is caused by retension of c02, you can't real breathe in too much c02, unless you are breathing from a c02 gas.
