One day I decided to quit. I threw my cigarettes a way a few minutes later, chewed toothpicks for a year in place of cigs., and that was it. Actually, about 10 years later, I tried one puff of a cigarette, but it tasted so bad, I never tried it again.

I quit cold turkey. I was told I was going to die if I didn't quit. I went home, threw away the cigs. Kept telling myself, my tongue was getting pinker, my clothes weren't going to smell any more. I wasn't giving my kids 2nd hand smoke. My house would smell better. My windows wouldn't leave a yellow color on rags when they were cleaned and I was stopping emphysema from getting worse. They also cost money that can be better used on some other things. Things tasted better and I was very proud of myself that I was stronger than the Nicotine. I smoked many years. It wasn't easy to give up but I did it and I am proud of me! You have to really want to stop and stick to it. Stay away from people who are smoking at first. Later, you won't be able to stand the smell of cigarettes. That was 20 years ago. You can do it!
