I am not sure where you are from but in Australia and The UK it is illegal to knock down and dispose of structures known to contain asbestos. You will need to employ a company specialised in the safe removal of the shed.

Sure, go ahead and let him do it!
Just make sure your life insurance is paid up! In a few years you'll get to pick out a new husband and you and he can travel on all the insurance money you'll be getting!
Or, you could just call a professional asbestos removal company if you want to keep the current husband.
Good Luck!

Don't do it. One March 9, 2005 my Dad died of Asbestosis. He was exposed to it during his employment. Once it is in your lungs you do not get rid of it. I cant even begin to tell you how horrible it is to watch someone you love not able to breath even while on a respirator. And if you think that its just a small amount of exposure, dont be fooled. THIS STUFF KILLS!!!

No way! it is important that this is done by one of the firms that specialise in asbestos removal. They will have the appropriate protective clothing. There are plenty to be found in the Yellow Pages.

NO. My son is a trained asbestos removal person and he has to wear special fitted face masks, etc etc. Teh danger comes from the fibres from the asbestos as it is broken up - you can live with it in its finished state with no harm, but when the fibres are broken, they enter your lungs.
Call in the professionals. You'll need a surveyor.

I am sure you know that absestos can cause cancer (carcenogen/mesothelioma {spelling srry}). So if he doesn't value his life or lungs than sure. That is a very dangerous job! there are teams of people that remove asbestos professionally. It can be very expensive.
So do you like your husband???

He should get a professional in to remove it most importantly because of both their health but mainly because asbestos is so dangerous that if they are caught just throwing it away they will most definitely be fined but could also be charged for endangering other people lives

Are you kidding? Neither of them should do it. That stuff is extremely dangerous. His brother needs to call in a professional team that knows how to safely dispose of the place. I don't care how well protected your husband thinks he is, he isn't trained in asbestos removal procedure. If I were you, I'd pull the "I'm your wife and I forbid you" card. Trust me, you'd be doing him a favor.

NO No No... It is illegal. You need to be registered to knock it down and you have to dispose of the asbestos at an approved site. Big fines for those that don't nver mind the health hazard to everyone in the surrounding area.

DON'T DO IT!!! That would send asbestos buy the load into the air for him to inhale. He should tell his brother to contact a contractor to remove it properly or he could be seriously risking his health.
It seems to me that his brother knows better than to do something like this. I would tell him to thank his brother and yea he will do it just after his brother loads a 45mm, looks down the barrel, and pulls the trigger to see if the gun works.
Brilliant!
