Do you have it in the correct ear? I think there's an ear for signifying gay and one for straight men. Maybe your dad just doesn't want you to have that kind of flair going on, whatever "that flair" may be.

Your dad sounds kinda strict. My suggestion would be to go ahead and take it out to get him off your back. Once you're out from under his roof you can decide whether you want to do it again without having to worry about a dictator telling you to take it out.
Or if you want to smart off to him, everytime time he uses the "Because I said so" line, you can reply with something like 'Seig Heil" or "Heil Hitler".

"Honor thy father and mother..." this is the first of the ten commandments of God that has a promise attached ("so that your years on earth will be long").
Your father is opposed to your wearing an earring and you should obey his instructions. Once you reach your majority and move out of his home you can do pretty much as you wish, until then your should follow his rules.
It would seem that your mother and father are using you to get at each other. You should attempt to extract yourself from this situation by obeying and honoring each parent, but beware of the manipulations of either one to put you in a position to irritate the other.

If I were you,I would talk to my dad.tell him I'm tired of hearing "because I say"
I would tell him I need to be convinced why I can't do sth or not I'll always be thinking about that-although that might be wrong.

Because, some parents are raised that way and pass it down to their kids. They want to make sure you are making the right choice. They might look at it the same as getting a tattoo, years ago just as tattoos are getting to be normal, so were peircings. Have your mom talk to your Dad, they seem to be having a miscommunication. How old are you?

Well maybe your Dad thinks that getting your ears pierced is more of a girl thing. I personally think that girls and boys should be able to get their ear pierced after all it is your body but you do have to respect your Dad.

I had the same problem with getting my eyebrow pierced. My dad just said "because I said so" but mom didn't care. After much begging he finally said I could get it done. I personally have nothing against tattooes or piercing because I find body art and expressive. I'm stuck in the middle of such debates because my dad's side of the family doesn't like that stuff but my mom's side doesn't mind.

It's no big deal. I got my ears pierced at 11 behind my parents' back, and double pierced in my 20s. You need to learn how to play your parents if you want to survive. Just don't show it to them. A piercing is a really small hole that people wont notice unless you bring their attention to it with jewelry or telling them.

Nothing really. You're dad is probably mad that you're mom went behind his back and didn't get his permission. Or maybe he genuinly doesn't like piercings.

There's nothing wrong with it in my opinion. The majority of people I know have their ears pierced I find it strange when one of my friends DOESN'T have it.
He just needs to warm up to the idea. Tell him that your mom said it's okay.
And right ear means gay, left ear means straight. Just wanted to clear that up since someone said that in their answer.

Why is it that people on Yahoo Answers don't believe in punctuation or proper grammar? I can't even understand your question because it is one long run-on sentence.

Parents don't accept change very easily when it comes to their kids. They are used to telling you what to do as you grew up. You have to ease them into the changes instead of just springing it on them or they will rebel. lol. It's the same as a young girl wanting to shave her legs. Moms freak out! But really, whats the big deal?
