i had that too,how long has it been hurting becuase mine lasts about until i fall asleep,i usally get it at night

did you work out today or do something that caused you to breathe alot? whenever i am breathing heavy i always get that feeling for a day

or like above: it could be all in your head. Rule out medical and then you'll know.

Are you asthmatic?
Had a bad cold or chest infection? Could be pleurisy?
Have you been coughing a great deal? Torn muscle?
Any worries? (apart from the deep breathing discomfort)
If it continues - see your Doc.

It could indigestion, or panic. I once suffered from the same thing, and put it down to this. Try taking slow, deep breaths when it happens again, hold it for a few seconds and then let it go. If you do this for a few minutes the pain should go away.
