I recall that it hurts after especially if you don't move your arm much. Have them put it in your dominant arm as you'll be sure to move that arm more than your other one (i.e. if your right-handed put shot in right arm). The reason it feels better when you move it is because it helps to move the medicine out of that area into the body.

Nah it might feel like a sharp mosquito bite but when its in for a sec wont hurt anymore. The key is to look away when they insert the needle and if your brave enough watch how they do it so you know its not gonna hurt when and if you need to get another one in the future. I use to freak when I got shots but now from having blood draws every year it doesnt bother me at all I even joke with the Vampires aka lab techs about doing it my self and they laugh. If you need to feel strong while getting it ask a parent to go with while and hold their hand if it will make you feel better. Good luck hun you will be fine k I promise. Hugs and Happy Holidayz

I'm in grade nine, too. Depends on your pain tolerance level. Mines pretty high, so no. It didn't hurt me. It's just a little sore afterwards.

Hurt?
Not so much.
But the next day you will be sore.
Try taking Advil afterwards.

Sweetheart --- obviously you are nervous. Let me tell you a little story and before they put that needle in your arm, think about this......I had breast cancer (OKAY NOW THOUGH) -- but before I had a lumpectomy.....to find out about the sentinal nodes, they had to put radiation into me ----- this MAN stuck 5 needles INTO MY NIPPLE and told me "oh don't worry, it won't hurt -- breast tissue is JUST FAT so there is no "feeling") -- IT HURT AND I ALMOST GRABBED HIS ......WELL, YOU KNOW...but he had the sharp object in HIS hand........so pretend like you're going through that instead of just a shot and it will be a BREEZE.

Shots only hurt if you think they will. I have to see them give me a shot. It doesn't hurt that way. I also stand there and tell them how to do it. " Now don't just jab it in straight! Slide it into my skin! " If I can't see it coming then it reeeaallyyy hurts ! I have a very big imagination, and it goes wild if I can't see. I remember my sister and me having to get vaccination shots. She was so funny, she would scream, cry, wiggle ,put her hands over her butt, and tell them to give me one first. It didn't bother me,I always watched, then laughed at Patty. I still have to watch. Byeee

There is only the pain of the needle poke. Tetanus shots don't hurt after they're given though. Get your tetanus shot ... you will be healthier if you get a 'wound' that is dirty, because dirt in wounds can cause 'lockjaw' ... which is the 'old fashioned word' for tetanus.

The shot itself doesn't. It usually causes tenderness in your arm for a few days though.

You are sore a little for like a day but that's it. If you don't pay attention you don't feel it...also it depends how the doctor is.

It usually isn't too painful, its the soreness the next day that is really noticeable. I wouldn't worry about it, the key is to relax your muscles in your arm and the shot will hurt a lot less or not at all.
