Your skin can turn orange because of the Beta Carotene. You skin DOES turn orange. I knew someone once that it happened to. It takes awhile though. It's not going to happen overnight. It happens over a long period of time.

Carotenemia can result which creates a yellowing of the skin, mostly noticeable in the hands and soles of the feet. Infants and young children are most susceptible. This is due to too much beta-carotene in the diet. It doesn't cause any dangerous effects and to correct the condition, a low beta-carotene diet corrects things...might take several months tho.
It used to be believed that the eye whites would also begin to turn yellowish but this isn't the case and there is no association between this and liver disease according to the medical community.

It is a member of the ragweed family, so if you have allergies to ragweed you may have a problem. I am allergic to ragweed so if I eat too many carrots my lips swell up and my throat gets itchy. Nothing too bad, it also happens with cantaloupe and watermelon. Hope that helps.

Turns your skin orange.
That's why Susan Dey wasn't in the last two seasons of "The Partridge Family." She had gone on a sevier starvation type diet and ate mostly just carrots. It turned her skin so orange that they couldn't risk putting her in front of the cameras.

Iam a med-student.This info. should answer your question.carrots are rich in (beta)B-carotene.Excessive consumption of carotene-rich foods may lead to a condition called carotoderma in which the palms or other skin develops a yellow or orange cast. This yellowing of the skin is presumably related to carotenemia, excessive levels of carotene in the blood. The health impact of carotenemia is not well researched. Eating or juicing high amounts of foods rich in carotene, like carrots, may over tax the body's ability to convert these foods to Vitamin A. The body slowly converts carotene to Vitamin A, and extra carotene is stored, usually in the palms, soles or behind the ears. If the cause of the carotenemia is eating excessively high amounts of foods like carrots, the condition will usually disappear after reducing consumption.

Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin, so it's going to build up in your body if you're constantly consuming it. Eventually, your body will have bad side effects, like liver abnormalities, hair loss, and reduced bone density that could lead to osteoporosis, for starters. However, the Vitamin A in carrots is in the form of betacarotene, which doesn't turn into retinoids very often. Retinoids are stored in the liver, and the liver can't hold an infinite amount of them, which is what causes problems. Since the betacarotene in carrots ( and cantaloupe, and pumpkin) doesn't get turned into retinoids very much, it shouldn't cause problems.

Your skin and the whites of your eyes can turn orange or yellow, which is a warning you should stop before you get Vitamin A toxicity. Also, too much fiber can cause diarrhea.
