Give her anything that she likes to drink she needs to get hydrated the most important thing in children or anyone really is hydration. If she gets dehydrated the problem is going to be alot worse than her throwing up. You need to call a Dr. and make sure that this vomiting spell is not something worse like food poisoning. Good Luck!

I would hate to give advice on this subject when I am no doctor, but I have two children and have done pretty good when it comes to helping them over come sickness. First thing is, if she continues to throw up, and doesn't have anything in her stomach, she could actually rupture her self from dry heaves, I also think she could come dehydrated and that is very dangerous. I would take my daughter to the emergency room, she probably has a stomach virus, or maybe food poison, but I wouldn't wait around to find out.

You should bring her to the Emergency Room. You do not want her to dehydrate, then you will have trouble. She/he must drink juice, water, a must. When she/he is feeling better go the the book store and research Dr. Spock books, or ask what books they recommend , and explain what your looking for.

Does she have a fever? She could be getting dehydrated from both sweating and vomiting.
Has she gotten into anything or did she catch a bug as school? If she did get into something, call the poison control in your area.
If she's just sick, push the liquids. Pedialyte is a good juice to push on sick kids because their little bodies absorb the good stuff quickly and there's a better chance some of it will stick before she throws it up again.
If she's not keeping ANYTHING down by tomorrow, I suggest taking her in to the doctor because dehydration can be a danger and they can rehydrate her.

Get the child to a doctor soon(now). Children loose their electrolytes easily from vomiting and or diarrhea. They can also dehydrate quickly, so fluids need to be replaced. They might start an Intra venous to give fluids. Good luck and I hope your munchkin feels beter.

Please take her to the doctor. If she gets dehydrated you could have more serious problems to deal with. It is probably a passing bug, but you have to get water into her soon.

keep giving her fluids... Pedialyte is good because it has the extra electrolytes in it to help her get better... Sounds like it could be food poisoning, which will wear off soon on its own, or it could be the flu, which could take a couple of days. Try a couple of the new children's pepto bismols and see how she's feeling in the morning. If she's still not doing well, call her pediatrician for an appointment. If it makes you feel better to get an opinion tonight, you can usually just call and speak to a nurse in the ER and get some advice for free and without having to sit in the waiting room for hours with a sick, miserable kid surrounded by other sick, miserable kids.

Try some flat Ginger ale to see if that helps. Also, review the following information to see if you need to call her pediatrician or take her to the Emergency Room.
Children under the age of 6 should be taken to a doctor if they:
- Have vomiting lasts more than a few hours,
- Are vomiting and have diarrhea,
- Has signs of dehydration,
- Hasn't urinated for six hours, or
- Has a fever of more than 100 F.
Go to the Emergency Room or call an ambulance if:
* There is blood in the vomit. This may give the vomit the appearance of containing coffee grounds.
* The person vomiting becomes confused or sleepy or loses alertness.
* There is a severe headache or stiff neck.
* There is severe pain in the stomach or gut.
* There is rapid breathing or rapid pulse.
Good luck and I hope she feels better!

don't panic yet. Sounds like stomach flu. Let her not eat for a while, her stomach is sick and needs to be left alone. When she starts feeling a little less nauseated, let her sip some water, then let her eat as her body gets feeling better. She will let you know what sounds good. Believe it or not, after I have stomach flu, the first thing I want to eat is a dill pickle. I think my stomach just needs the acid and salt replaced. Good luck, you're an awesome person for adopting these children.

Oh, so sorry your little one is sick! You feel so helpless when your kids are feeling lousy. There's not much you can do for throwing up except be there and be comforting. If she's thirsty let her drink but know that it's probably going to keep coming up until whatever it is in her system passes through. The most dangerous part about little kids and throwing up is the risk of dehydration. Get on a website that describes what it looks like in kids that age (I only have babies so don't know how it's different from a five-year-old). If you can get to a store you might want to pick up some Pedialyte; it's a drink that has electrolytes and stuff that kids lose when they throw up so it helps to keep dehydration away better than water. If you can't get out, though, don't worry about it. When your daughter does stop throwing up regularly, try to get some liquid into her. Water is good, popsicles, soup..... see what she's in the mood for. Talk to the doctor in the morning to see if you should bring her in just for a check. Good luck; this will be quite a tough introduction to the life of a parent!
