If you have been constipated for that long you need to go and seek some medical attention some where. There could be a number of things seriously wrong with you.Waiting could cause even more complications. See a DR. soon.

Fiber. You can go to a drug and get Metamucil that works pretty good( NOTE: its not a drug, it come in powder form and you mix it in with a glass of water). That's what my doctor told me to take before I left the hospital because he knew that I wouldn't be getting out of for a while. You could go or call your local pharmacy, they can suggest on some things to take.

Done your income taxes yet?!! Seriously, though, you don't want to take something that induces diarrhea. Think about it; anything having the ability to do that would also give you extreme cramps based on the fact it would act on your ..ahem, problem starting from the top up..Not Good. You didn't mention if this is something that happens on a "regular" (sorry about that!) basis. It could be due to a different medication you're taking, or too much sugary stuff, or food you don't normally eat; but hey, it's the holidays, right. You could try the old fashion remedy...an enema. The absolutely right solution is call the doctor or even ask your pharmacist! Most importantly, find out how to eat and exercise properly so it doesn't get to this point. Don't worry; I think we've all been there one time or another. Happy Holidays!!

Plenty of water, hot, made into tea if you like. Drink as much as possible, especially following a meal or a dose of Metamucil.
Skip meats. Instead for protein eat nuts and beans of any kind. No bread or wheat products. They gum up your digestive system.
Mineral Oil has been suggested, but it causes cramping. You're better off to use a suppository. And do go easy on those laxatives. Your colon is packed solid rights now, which could mean nausea and pain as strong laxatives move through your system.
When you sit on the toilet, elevate your legs on a bucket or stool. This is similar to the squatting position primitive peoples used when having a B.M. Failing this, squat for a while before attempting to use the toilet. It helps the feces move down into the sigmoid colon for elimination.
Too much info? You won't think so if it works. Good luck!
