You could have a serious medical condition. Make an appointment with your doctor immediately. Here's a website you should read, Detroit Medical Center.
Also, do a search on Facial Tics.

The BEST advice is to consult with a Dr. Medical issues need professional consultation. Just know you are not alone - perhaps you could be directed to a group whose members experience the same syndrome. It always helps to talk to others who know from a personal standpoint how you feel.

First things first... have you seen a doctor for this? There are many things this could be all of them surrounding the nervous system. You need to be examined by a physician. Next, don't allow anything or any one to take over your life. You're only 20 and have got a great deal of life ahead of you. So don't get discouraged, get seen by a doctor, and get ready to enjoy the college experience.

There is a name for that, and there is no known cure, but there is medication to control it. You need to see your doctor so he can check you out,

I think that you should see a doctor; it is a bit hard to believe that this has gone on for 5 years and no one around you has ever made an effort to help you get help.

Sounds like it may be mild turrets syndrome. Tell your doctor or parents and get some help and don't feel bad about it. That's why this web site is so popular because we all need help.

It sounds like you might have a mild case of tourettes syndrome. I would see a neurologist as soon as you can, the brain is nothing to ignore and it could be something a bit more complex. Otherwise, it might be just stress getting the best of you, and in which case when you think about it, it worsens, in which case I recommend a massage, glass of wine and some nice company or a pet.

Ok, this works for me. Every time it starts, close your eyes and take slow deep breaths. Start by tightening and scrunching your face muscles and hold it for 10 secs, concentrate on how it feels when you do this. Then relax and continuing with your eyes closed concentrate on how it feels relaxed. Then take 3 deep breaths and move on to your neck and continue to tighten your neck as hard as possible. Remember to concentrate on how it feels, continue to breath very deep as you do all of this. Hold it for 10 secs then relax and concentrate on how that feels and take 3 very deep breaths. From the beginning continue this pattern throughout your face, neck, arms, fists, chest, abs, upper legs, lower legs, and then feet. If you take the 3 minutes to do this it will help tremendously, not to mention the fact that you will feel really good afterward. Be serious about it thought or else it won't work. Have fun!!!!!!!!!
