If it bothers you this much, talk to the teacher and ask him/her to be specific.
Otherwise make sure you: bathe/shower, have clean clothes, clean hair, use deodorant, brush your teeth (brush/clean your tongue) and go on about your business.

Well the people you asked may have been scared to answer you honestly. You probably do smell if the teacher would say that but that still isn't appropriate for the teacher to say that. If the teacher keeps doing stuff like that you should tell your school counselor or something

this may sound a little evil, but if you really hate the teacher for it then you should smell your best for 1 day of school. Go to the principal/counselor and tell her that she loud capped you to embarrass you. That it was very inappropriate and meaningfulness to tell you that you stink..taking away time for education. Good Luck! :]

Ok, so that was rude and forward of your teacher, so to put your mind at ease: give yourself a really good wash and go back to that teacher. This time you will have no doubts about how you smell, and ask the teacher's opinion.
I can't imagine any other reason a teacher would feel compelled to tell you this, but it's the only sure way to find out if your teacher is "full of ****", or not.
Good luck, and don't forget to get right in there behind the ears!

Well, in case there really is a problem you should shower daily, wash your hair, use deodorant and make sure your clothes are clean and your shoes/sneakers aren't wet and smelly. Sometimes you just have to wash out the inside of sneakers especially after they get wet. Then they begin to smell bad. Alternating different pairs of shoes/sneakers will also give them time to air out in between wearing them and will lessen the chance for getting stinky.

Well you're better off than me! 10 years ago when I was in year 8, my maths teacher (who happened to be a stripper after school hours and I know this for a fact) pulled me aside as the class filed out for lunch and told me that I looked ugly! She started giving me tips on how to look better! I was too stunned to react! I would have been grateful to have been called stinky! Laugh if you will, but I'm still scarred today.
The problem here is if you dob the teacher in, everyone will believe the teacher over you. I agree with everyone above. Just get deoderant and if the teacher has a go again, then you'll know the teacher was just trying to be unplesant

Ask you teacher directly what it is he/she thinks you smell of? Body odor or maybe you smoke and they are referring to that or possibly he/she is oversensitive to your cologne.

this is a difficult one, as no one ever seems willing to even tell their best friend, and the teacher was very brave to broach it, it may be worth asking your teacher what sort of smell she is referring to body odour? breath? Sometimes people have a strong scent when they are nervous or under stress, if you dont smell I don't blame you for being offended, but it may be that you do , and its good to know someone cares enough about you to tell you. I had to talk to some one once when I was a manager and all the staff complained to me about this poor woman but no one would say anything, she was really upset when I spoke to her and recommended a good deodorant[ she had been using an ineffective body spray] she wrote me a letter to thank me afterwards so don't be too upset

...your teacher is mean to say that to you.
BUT... a lot of times you really cant smell yourself... and your friends dont want to hurt your feeling so they say you dont..
so just as a precaution.. you should just stay clean and use the right deoderant and keep your clothes clean.
other than that.. theres no huge problem where you should be wearing perfume or something.
ask your parents.. theyll most likely be the most honest with you.

You should say well you smell to *********! LOL... I would say something to someone. I was a teacher and had a little boy in my class who smelled HORRIBLE, it was from the meds that he took and I never said to him or his mom he smelled, there are more important things to do in a class room then pick out those that smell.

i have a hard time believing that a teacher would randomly do this. if she pulled you aside, she has likely noticed your smell and wanted to make you aware of it. perhaps she overheard some other kids talking about it. your friends may have been caught off guard or too embarrassed to tell you about it when you asked. ask your mom what she thinks of your smell. if she agrees that you have a little BO, then get a product called certain dri. it's great, really works, and will eliminate odor unlike regular deodorant and anti-persperant, which only work for people with mild sweat/odor issues.

Some people do have sensitivity to certain odors, it could be your teacher is allergic to your perfume or deodorant and interprets that as something smelly.

perhaps your teacher was doing you a favor, although not very tactful...but how do you tell someone...take a close look at your personnal hygiene...do you shower daily, is your hair clean, do you brush teeth in morning, do you use deodorant, are your clothes, underwear and socks clean?...

Was he/she specific in how you smelled bad? Since he/she pulled you aside rather than saying something during class makes me believe that he/she was trying not to embarrass you, but I also don't know this teacher and I can't say what kind of person he/she is. A lot of people, when asked, will not tell you anything negative out of fear of hurting your feelings.
Do you shower regularly? Do you have well water ... well water can smell bad from the sulfur. Does your deodorant work for you ... some people sweat more than others. Do you brush your teeth regularly? Are your clothes clean and are they dried entirely (they can "sour" if they're left in the washer for a couple days)? Are you healthy ... sometimes infections can create body odor, such as ear infections and such. Do you smoke? Just some things to think about. Or ask the teacher directly what he/she meant.

That must of sucked and been humiliating, how awful for you. Just make sure you bath regularly, don't wear a lot of perfumes, use deodorant, and brush your teeth at least twice daily.

Just try to do a lil better with the hygiene just in case. The other people may have been trying to be nice. Ask the teacher what kind of smell because it could be that she doesn't like your perfume or whatever.

Well, you wouldn't necessarily notice yourself smelling. But other people should. Ask people that you know will be honest with you about it, and take it from there.

Be on the safe side. Bathe, wear only clean clothes, use deodorant, a little perfume and ask someone you really trust to be honest--not a friend who won't want to hurt your feelings. Of course, if you DO smell, you'll have a hard time finding friends, so...there's your first clue.
