Take his temperature. If it's over 102 take him. If not, call your local ER and ask what you should do.
If he has a slight fever and can take some Tyleonol, have him do that. Once he stops puking, get him to drink some water or gatorade to keep him from dehydrating.
You're going to spend hours in the ER. Bring drinks, snacks books.
If this has only started, you're probably Ok waiting to see your family doc. If this has been going on for several days, call and check.

Take him to his primary physician and get him checked out first before going to the hospital and having to pay a hefty bill for what could only be a flu or a cold or even food poisoning which can all be cured with over the counter medications. And the same for you, check in with your doctor first.

Well, it depends.
I would take him to be safe but it could be just a bad case of influenza that really doesn't need hospitalization. I'd take him ust in case though, it could be food poisoning or something like salmonella or E. Coli or something.
hope you both get better.

There's a bug going around. Stock up on gatorade and Ginger ale. Take comfort in knowing that though you feel like you're dying and might even welcome it, you likely won't actually die.
The sore throat could be a problem. If it's still around in a few more days, or if his fever spikes higher than 101ºF, definitely get him in to the doctor.

DO you usually get sick if you get stressed??
If both are having symptoms, go to the ER, and get checked out. It might be a bug, but it might be poisoning of somekind. ONly a doctor visit can tell for sure.

sounds like you have both been poisoned..maybe food poisoning
you could have eaten some undercooked meat, eggs.. or have come into close contact with someone infected where you have happened to consume some of their illness.. i say consume because the infection has to enter your mouth for it to affect you.
if you don't go to the doctor or hospital then you will get worse.. and food poisoning can kill you
my cousin's friend died 2 years ago from food poisoning and he was only 12 years old.
.....................
oh and drink tons of water.. you dont want to get any worse because of dehydration from you pooping and vomiting!!

Sounds like you both have a case of food poison. You should go to the doctor and get a shot. It should pass quickly after that.
